We sure do miss Bea Arthur!
Last night, the world’s favorite Golden Girl was remembered by friends and colleagues at an event in NYC called “Celebrating Bea Arthur”.
Dozens of celebrities including Angela Lansbury, Rosie O’Donnell, Norman Lear, Adrienne Barbeau, Jerry Stiller, and of course, fellow Golden Girl, Rue McClanahan were in attendance.
Rue even gave a heartwarming speech depicting the character and grace of Bea, but also, she reminded everyone of Bea’s best quality – her DIRTY mouth!
Rue recalled a time when her husband went and introduced himself to Bea at a party at Sardi’s in NYC. Bea was sitting alone having a drink and when Rue’s husband told her who he was, Bea replied:
“Rue, I love. Betty White’s a cunt!”
Hah!
If you don’t find that funny, you don’t understand the genius that was Bea Arthur. There will never be another one like her!
