It's reported that the TV producer contracted an infection after returning home from France with his wife nearly three weeks ago. The mogul is said to have been placed in the ICU to be treated for pneumonia — and was eventually placed on ventilator.
Unfortunately, the CEO of King World Productions' health deteriorated and was taken off life support. He died several hours later.
Michael was easily viewed as one of Hollywood's greatest TV producers with his daytime hits.
Our hearts go out to Michael's friends and family during this trying time.

Did Brandi Glanville watch Kim Richards shocking Dr. Phil interview, or???
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star spoke out about her friend's current condition at the launch of her new wine — Unfiltered Blonde Chardonnay — on Thursday. Oh, the alcohol irony!
The 42-year-old reality TV troublemaker confessed that she's been in contact with the former child star:
We knew that the culmination of Kim Richards' time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills while battling alcohol and pill addiction was going to be intense, but we weren't expecting it to be this bad.
During her Dr. Phil interview on Tuesday, the 50-year-old child star was given the opportunity to go to an all-expenses paid rehab, but the inability to control where she went set her off.

After storming out of the room, Kim proceeded to sling vulgarities towards Dr. Phil while ignoring the cries from her three children, Brooke Brinson, Chad Davis, and Kimberly Jackson.
While we're not sure how her kids convinced her to take of the doctor's offer, since she wouldn't let cameras tape her, Kim did eventually agree to go to rehab.
Ch-ch-check out the extremely emotional display (above)!!!
We're glad Kim Richards is finally dishing up some honesty!!
In anticipation of Kim's interview with Dr. Phil, we've learned that she admitted to drinking this past season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Wow, what an explosive claim considering Richards was adamant about her sobriety on the Real Housewives reunion episode!
"I did have drinks a couple other times over the past few months. It was wine. I was ashamed to say anything at the reunion, embarrassed. I would have loved to say to the girls, 'You know what, you're right,' but the way they were coming at me, they didn't make it easy."
We wonder how the reality star's co-stars, especially Lisa Rinna, feels about the
not so shocking admission!
It looks like Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend really did make progress in rehab, because he recently ended his stint.
25-year-old Nick Gordon decided he needed to seek professional help for his drug and alcohol problems following an explosive interview with Dr. Phil. He checked in earlier this spring.

Although he's out of rehab, he's not by Bobbi Kristina's side.
It seems that classic Britney hit (Oops!… I Did It Again) is applicable for all sorts of situations.
We all know how Kim Richards' sister, Kyle, feels about her recent friendship with Brandi Glanville.
But, this time it's not Kim's younger sister who's throwing shade at her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar…
It's her son, Chad Davis!
Chad joined his mom for her highly-anticipated interview with Dr. Phil today, where he called Brandi out for being "toxic."

Them's fightin' words!
However, maybe Chad has a point.
In a recent promo of her chat with Dr. Phil, Kim Richards was seen angrily leaving the room because she was visibly upset by a bombardment of questions from her kids and the host.
So, did she completely storm out of the interview and leave everyone hanging — or did the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star just needed to take a little breather??

Well, wonder no more because Dr. Phil is here to explain what went down — sorta! He still needs to leave some things for the actual interview that airs on Tuesday!
The 64-year-old opened up to Extra about the explosive talk and even gave viewers an insight into people who are addicts and alcoholics.
