But one Starfleet crew member who won't be in the series' fourth installment is Pavel Chekov, who was played by the late Anton Yelchin in the first three films.
A month after the 27-year-old died in a freak accident, director J.J. Abrams revealed that the role of Chekov will not be recast in the film franchise.
Speaking to The Toronto Sun, the 50-year-old producer, who helmed the first two rebooted films, said Yelchin's character will be retired in future adaptations, explaining:
We're not sure if we can handle this much man candy in one Star Trek movie!
Star Trek Beyond is hitting theaters this weekend, and Paramount is celebrating by announcing a fourth film in the rebooted Sci-Fi series!
On Monday, the studio announced that Star Trek 4 will feature a familiar face — and that face is the chiseled jawline of Chris Hemsworth!
The Thor actor will reprise his role as Captain Kirk's (Chris Pine) father George Kirk, who is described as "a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born."
Four days ahead of Star Trek Beyond's Wednesday premiere at Comic-Con, the studio revealed that the two Kirks will cross paths in the fourth installment of the space saga.
Since George sacrificed his life in the beginning of the 2009's Star Trek, it sounds like time travel will be involved in the Kirk family reunion…
Either way, adding a Hemsworth to any movie is always a smart move!
Get excited for the return of George Kirk by catching Star Trek Beyond in theaters July 22!

Elsa Pataky is one lucky lady!
On Sunday, Elsa shared a fun and enviable snap of herself jumping out of a private jet in honor of her 40th birthday. Ms. Pataky and her husband Chris Hemsworth are currently celebrating in Australia where they have a second home and a spend a big chunk of their time. Oh, and he's currently shooting the newest Thor movie there!
In the cute pic, the yoga enthusiast can be seen hopping out of the plane looking 100% thrilled to be ALIVE. The best thing about the photo is Chris watching over his lady with his arms extended — by the looks of it, the actor might have even given Elsa a boost out of the jet!

Tom Hiddleston's friends are officially on board with Hiddleswift!
As you know, the 35-year-old and his new flame Taylor Swift have been in Australia since July 7 as he films Thor: Ragnorak alongside Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo — and now it seems Tay Tay is fitting right in with her beau's own squad!
Not only did the 26-year-old join Tom & co. on Thursday night for a private screening of Hemsworth's new film Ghostbusters — but Thor himself seems eager to spend time with his pal's love on set!
Calling into Nova's Fitzy and Wippa this week, Hemsworth said of Hiddleswift:
"I've seen Tom around, he looks happy mate, yeah!"
While this was before C.H. had a chance to meet the Shake It Off pop star, he did mention he'd hoped to hear her sing a couple songs while in town:
"I haven't actually met her, they only got here three or four days ago … I'll ask her to sing a few songs. I'll just hand her the guitar in between set ups with the camera. I'll be like 'Off you go.' Couple tunes would be nice."
Ha! Can't say we blame him!

The new Ghostbusters surely ain't afraid of no ghosts… but should they be afraid of film critics??
After getting an unnecessary amount of flack from self-appointed protectors of the original film and misogynistic Internet trolls, the highly-anticipated Sony reboot is finally hitting theaters this weekend!
To the delight of its defenders, the Paul Feig comedy is scoring generally positive early reviews — but that's not to say the gender-swapped reboot didn't have any ghastly misfires.
Even the critics who praised the film's heavy laughs and action agreed it suffered the overbearing presence of the original 1984 film — and sacrificed good storytelling opportunity for fan service. (Way too many cameos!)
Some critics also noted that leads Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig didn't have the same magic as they did in past Feig collabs like Bridesmaids and Spy — but the presence of Leslie Jones and scene stealers Kate McKinnon and Chris Hemsworth made up for the lull in chemistry.
All in all, the reviews say audiences can expect a summer blockbuster full of spooky fun with a side of girl power — but maybe not much that's going to stick with you…

Now that's how you own a magazine cover!!
Chris Pine is as hunky as he's ever been posing for the newest issue of Men's Fitness, and we are in awe of those muscles!
The 35-year-old — who seriously takes it over the top with that 5 o'clock shadow — did it for Star Trek Beyond, his upcoming third film in the Star Trek franchise, as well as playing the eye candy for Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and he's doing it in ALL the right ways!
But while the hunkiness has always been there with Pine, this buff physique is relatively new.
In fact, Pine was pretty open about how he got ready for his work, noting it didn't happen for him like it did Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, two other superhero film stars that he references directly:
We'll take two, please!
But now, the Independence Day: Resurgence actor will be in the homes of many fans at the same time — in the form of his hyper realistic, life-sized doll!
On Wednesday's Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 26-year-old showed off the authentic Liam Hemsworth doll, which is definitely NOT to be used for sex purposes!
The actor explained that his super realistic doll is warm to the touch, anatomically correct in every detail, and easy to hose off — but, again, is not a sex doll! Okay, sure!
Our only question is: does it come in Chris Hemsworth, too? LOLz!
Ch-ch-check out the funny clip (below) to see Liam shove a banana down his definitely-not-for-sex doll's throat!
