This is some powerful stuff.

If you've been paying attention to national news lately, then you're aware that America is currently suffering from an increase in black deaths at the hands of police.

While victims like Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and Trayvon Martin may never get justice at this rate, Alicia Keys is done with seeing her brothers and sisters gunned down by people who are supposed to be there to help.

Barack Obama

Happy birthday, America Malia!

President Barack Obama's oldest daughter turned the big 1-8 on Monday — so of course POTUS did what any dad would do… and sang her Happy Birthday on a national stage! LOL!

With none other than Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae along for the ride, the 54-year-old led the crowd at his last Fourth of July party at the White House in singing to Miz Malia.

Michelle Obama's other half said of his first born:

"And just because it's a job of a father to embarrass his daughters, I've got one last job. It just so happens that we celebrate our country's birthday on the same day that we celebrate my oldest daughter's birthday."

Here it is, the moment we've been waiting for: the BET Awards tribute to Prince.

It's up to Sheila E., Janelle Monae, Stevie Wonder, and The Roots to show up and prove themselves after BET threw major shade at Madonna's tribute at the Billboard Music Awards.

So is this one bigger and better?

Well, it's certainly bigger, as it was split up into multiple performances throughout the night. And it all started (above) with the Legendary Roots Crew, along with Erykah Badu and Bilal.

Erykah was subdued and surprisingly forgettable doing The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker… Bilal, on the other hand, really brought the spirit of the Purple One to the stage with his performance of The Beautiful Ones.

Next up, Tori Kelly joined Stevie Wonder — who interestingly enough was also in Her Madgesty's BBMAs tribute — for a performance of Take Me With U.

It was just OK… but then Jennifer Hudson took the stage and showed everyone how paying tribute is DONE.

Ch-ch-check out all the AH-Mazing performers honoring the late artist starting with the Roots with Erykah and Bilal (below)!
