YASSSS, Hollywood Foreign Press Association!
As we previously reported, Ms. Streep caused shockwaves (both good and bad) when she slammed Trump for his bullying and overall horridness — it was undoubtedly the highlight from the evening!
Following the backlash from conservatives who called the actress out of touch, elitist, and MORE, Lorenzo felt it necessary to defend the Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient's honor.
Translation — no one f*cks with Meryl, people!!
Ch-ch-check out the HFPA Prez's supportive post (below)!!!
But apparently no one had a better time than Octavia Spencer!
Hidden Fences Hidden Figures actress popped by Ellen DeGeneres' show on Wednesday to help promote her new flick and to tell the comedienne about her AH-Mazing Globes experience!
Octavia was extremely perky at the award show, and it was all because she wore a pantsuit — and no underwear! Miz Spencer was so relaxed she even told Casey Affleck about going commando when she bumped into him!
Ch-ch-check out Octavia's HIGHlarious interview as the 46-year-old talks Hidden Figures, the Globes, dating, and more!
While Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers chimed in with their takes defending Streep, Noah had a slightly more controversial view during Monday night's episode… because although he understands where Meryl was coming from, he thinks she went about it all wrong!
The Daily Show host started off his Globes recap by talking about that whole Hidden Figures/Fences mix-up before sharing his take on Meryl's speech, saying:
All aboard the anti-Trump bandwagon!
Since the show, the racist Republican and his maddening mouthpiece Kellyanne Conway have tried their best to shade the iconic actress… but luckily, almost all of Hollywood is in her corner!
What a flip flopper!
However, it may come as a shock to you that the Donald didn't always feel that way about the 67-year-old — and in an interview last year, he even listed her as one of his favorite actresses!
When receiving the Cecil B. DeMille award on Sunday, the Florence Foster Jenkins star sounded off on Trump's horrifying "performance" on the campaign trail, specifically when he appeared to mock a disabled reporter at a rally.
Unsurprisingly, the businessman slammed the screen legend on Twitter the next day, calling Streep "over-rated" — but the 70-year-old politician had a much different opinion about the actress in a 2015 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
When asked if there are any leading ladies in Hollywood he "loves" to watch, Streep was one of the two stars named by Trump. He said:
There's nothing like coming to Meryl Streep's rescue to unite EVERYONE!
As you surely know, the always AH-Mazing Meryl delivered an INCREDIBLE speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday night blasting Donald Trump. Donald later responded via Twitter by calling the actress "over-rated." SRSLY?!
As a result, TONS of celebs have come to the actress' defense — George Clooney and Robert De Niro even chimed in! But Monday night, the late night hosts got a turn to put in their two cents — and Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert let Trump have it!
Both comedians slammed the President-elect for his ABSURD tweet, but they also went on to analyze and bring the future POTUS down a peg for how he's handled the Russian hacking news!
Ch-ch-check out all the best Trump rebuttals (below)!
