It's just as we expected.

Last month, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were investigated by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services following allegations of alcohol and drug use by the couple after their twins' birth.

Now, Mariah's rep Cindi Berger has confirmed that the investigation has been closed:

"Disturbing that an anonymous caller would call child protective services but they legally have to follow up. What an utter waste of tax payers dollars. Yes, the case is closed."

We had no doubt that the case would turn out like this!

We're sorry that you had to go through this at the same time of your twins' birth, Nick and Mariah, but we're glad to hear that everything was worked out.

He is one busy man!

Awww! Good!

In the excitement of coming home, Mariah has been tweeting about "dembabies" and how happy she is to be home. She's even been singing to them — which doesn't surprise us one bit!

"Dembabies aka Roc+Roe are sleeping peacefully: ) I just finished singing 2 them(softly!) Feeling so blessed. LYM : )x0×0."

Whereas she sounds pretty relaxed and comforted by their arrival, Nick on the other hand has been a worried wreck (though an extremely happy one!):

Cannon, who says he's "freaked out about being a new dad." Appearing on his radio show Monday, Cannon said he's worried about everything from the babies' suffocating to the idea of having to give them CPR one day.

"This is the kind of stuff that is making me go crazy when you have two new babies. I cannot relax. I am OCD-ing. They don’t tell you this part about being a new parent."

You'll be fine, Nick! You can't think about worst case scenarios so often, or you'll end up missing all the enjoyment from the babies, and BAM! they're 18 and leaving the house!

Relax and just help Mariah sing!

Ugh! So absurd, but we just hope this mess is wrapped up shortly.

The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services is continuing to investigate allegations of alcohol and drug use against Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon after their twin's birth.

Even though there have been "absolutely no findings that either Mariah or Nick were doing anything illegal, or that could place the twins in danger", the law requires a full investigation when a child is allegedly in jeopardy.

Nick was reportedly VERY upset (and who wouldn't be) about the allegations and may have escalated the situation inadvertently by protesting the legitimacy of the DCFS investigation, but a source explained:

"Under California law, anytime there is any allegation made involving the welfare and safety of a child, DCFS is required to investigate. Mariah was extremely cooperative with DCFS and answered all the questions. Mariah understood why Nick was upset. He was just trying to protect her, and the twins."

We think any parent would react the same way as Nick, especially due to the ridiculous nature of the accusation, so we can't blame him for being upset.

The source continued to explain the couple may have one more visit to look forward to once they are at home with the twins, but "that decision will be made by the social worker assigned to the case."

Hopefully the social worker realizes he or she is wasting their time and moves onto to a more important case.

Incredible! A working momma!

Nick Cannon has revealed that while his wife Mariah Carey was pregnant with their twinsies, she recorded a new album! Can you believe it? Girl couldn't see her feet, but she recorded a new album?! Amazing!

Nick raved to sources:

"She's planning on having a record out this year. She's been working away, and we have a studio in the crib, and [the pregnancy] has totally inspired her on so many different levels. You're definitely gonna see some new phenomenal music from Mariah."

Oh man! We bet Moroccan and Monroe are going to love that!!! MiMi is going to sing them the BEST lullabies…and then turn them into gold records!!!

So sad that they have to worry about this kind of nonsense during what should be such a happy time!

Nick Cannon recently revealed that after he and his wife, Mariah Carey, welcomed their twins last month, they were contacted by child protection officers because of allegations that the couple were drinking and doing drugs in the hospital!

He explains:

"Recently, the Child Protective Services were called with allegations that there was some drinking and drugs and all that going on, wild in the hospital, which makes no sense to me - how would a hospital allow that? It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding… I don't know if someone heard that, but then they were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story. Then when I spoke to the person from Child Protection Services, (they said), 'This is ridiculous, we're going to make sure this isn't the case'. To even have to deal with that, my wife in the state that she's in, we're in the hospital, to even have to think about someone possibly wanting to investigate your children… it's sad at the end of the day. There's been photographers actually in the hospital posing as different people or (people) trying to get pictures of the kids, which is really sad when you think about people trying to make a buck off newborn babies."

Such a shame! Everyone deserves at least a LITTLE privacy, especially during these kind of circumstances!

They're new parents! Give them space, people!

Here's hoping that all the nonsense with protective services has been resolved, and you two can just focus all of your energy on your two precious little children!
