| Filed under: Film FlickersTom CruiseBusiness BlitzPaul Rudd

the-hobbit-number-one-weekend-box-office-jack-reacher-this-is-40

Tom Cruise may be taller than a hobbit - not by much, mind you - but this weekend, our friends from Middle Earth towered above the A-list star…in the weekend box office!

After having the largest-ever December debut, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey continued strong for the second time, making an estimated $36.7 million between Friday and Sunday!

And THAT, friends, brings their domestic total to $150 million!

Jack Reacher, meanwhile, came in second with only $15.6 million…and Paul Rudd's This Is 40 followed close by with $12 million, making it the smallest-ever Judd Apatow-directed debut!

YEESH!

But honestly, what could they have expected?

Peter Jackson's adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien is a STAPLE for the holiday season, after all!

Ch-ch-check out the rest of the box office top ten…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Will Ferrell & Other Celebs Ask YOU To Demand A Plan To Prevent Gun Violence! WATCH HERE!

| Filed under: Jennifer AnistonPolitikBeyonceInspirationJessica AlbaEllen DeGeneresChris RockConan O'BrienWill FerrellSelena GomezPaul Rudd

After 26 lives were lost last week in Newtown, CT, no one can deny that our nation has a problem with violent crimes involving guns.

It's time that WE, the people of the Unites States, push to put an end to gun violence in our country.

Obviously, the goal is lofty, and arguably impossible. But if we don't at least TRY something different, if we don't come together and attempt to come up with an alternative plan, then nothing will ever change and we will become victims of our own inaction.

Beyoncé, Jessica Alba, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Aniston, Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres and Conan O'Brien, among MANY other celebrities, urge YOU to get involved with Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence, an organization sponsored by Mayors Against Illegal Guns (above).

Guns are purely convenient death-causing machines. Their only purpose is to cause pain. Why not do everything possible to rid ourselves of such items? Why not do everything possible to save lives?

It is imperative for the peaceful future of our society.

| Filed under: Film FlickersSteve CarellWill FerrellPaul Rudd

anchorman 2 will ferrell release date movie

We're assuming that most of you will be getting your 2013 calendar from awkward distant relatives and coworkers next week, so you'll want to write this down on a post-it note and stick it somewhere you won't forget.

Like on the dashboard of your car. LOLz!

The Anchorman sequel, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, will be released on December 20, 2013!!

This is fab news, and we're super pumped we won't have to wait until 2014 to see it! Though, that's based on the BIG assumption that the world isn't ending tomorrow. LOLz!

Our lives have been needing a little more Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner as San Diego's Channel 4 Action News team — and we're glad Adam McKay is at the helm!

As far as plot details go, they say it will be set in 1978, as the team has to contend with the advent of rolling news! Ha!

FINALLY! This movie has taken forever!!

Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln Beats The Nomination Competition for The Critics’ Choice Awards

steven-spielberg-critics-choice-nomination.jpg

Award season is just starting, but Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln is already breaking records!!

The film—with a star-studded cast including Daniel Day-Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones, and Sally Field— received a whopping 13 nominations for the 18th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, beating Black Swan’s 12 nominations in 2011.

Other big stakeholders this awards season look to be Les Misérables with 11 nominations and Silver Linings Playbook with 10 nominations.

To be honest, we can’t even begin to predict who will win. AllMost of the movies we’ve seen in 2012 have been great!

What we do know is that this year's red carpet will be ESPECIALLY HOT with babelicious actors like Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Ben Affleck, and Mila Kunis scoring nominations. YUM!!!

Kristen Wiig Will Take Us To Pleasure Town In Anchorman 2?

| Filed under: Steve CarellChristina ApplegateWill FerrellPaul RuddKristen Stewart

kristen-wiig-in-talks-for-anchorman-2

Bad news lamp!

Brick Tamland has a new love interest, and her name is… Kristen Wiig!

The SNL alum is reportedly being talked up for the role of Steve Carell's love interest in Anchorman 2.

Nothing is official yet. Sources say the script is still being written, so no cast beyond the principals (Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner) has been set.

Buuuuuut, we have a feeling it will all be 100 percent legit very in no time.

The thought of the pants-party-loving weather man have a romantical scene is funny enough - add the Wiigster to the equation and you it could be as explosive as the wedding dress scene in Bridesmaids!

Srsly, we can't wait for her to throw a trident through steal Brick's bear taming heart!

Best cover ever? Best coverS ever!

America's reigning Kaiser of comedy, Mr. Judd Apatow, served as the guest editor on January's issue of Vanity Fair magazine. And as far as we can tell, it's the sh*t!

To make this issue Super Badass, Judd got all his pals (aka the most HIGHlariooous bitches in Hollywood) to make an appearance in and on the cover of his one-off shot at magazine editing.

The list includes the stars of Apatow's upcoming film, This Is 40; Paul Rudd, Megan Fox, Leslie Mann, and Melissa McCarthy — along with no-names like Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Kristen Wiig, and Ben Stiller!

The thought of all those comics in one room is making us very excited… about reading this… but also sexually.

Ch-ch-check out our personal fave of the three covers (above) and the other two star-studded lay-outs (below)!
