Academy Awards President Cheryl Boone Isaacs Remarks Upon The LACK Of Diversity Amongst The Nominees This Year!

Everyone should be curious about what she had to say!
The first black president of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has made a statement about the whole lack of diversity thing amongst the Oscar nominees this year.
Cheryl Boone Isaacs made the remarks this past Friday night and basically said that she, like everyone else, hopes to see greater diversity in the years to come!
Here’s what she said:

“In the last two years, we’ve made greater strides than we ever have in the past toward becoming a more diverse and inclusive organization through admitting new members and more inclusive classes of members. And, personally, I would love to see and look forward to see a greater cultural diversity among all our nominees in all of our categories.”

The fact that NONE of the actors nominated were anything but white is a bit sad to think about.
Especially when there were definitely some VERY deserving people who were left off the nominee ballot.
And we’re especially sad that Selma director Ava DuVernay didn’t become the first black female nominated for a best director award but we don’t expect that to not happen for much longer.

If you’ve seen Selma, you’ll surely know, too, that lady is going places!
We’re glad to hear the Academy is taking steps to address this problem, but unfortunately that doesn’t help some of the brilliant folks left out in the cold this year!
