For eight months, Britney Spears appeared to have achieved the ultimate #RelationshipGoal with Charlie Ebersol.
However, as we previously reported, the news of the duo’s split broke on Monday. Though it may have surprised us — it appears that the breakup didn’t shock anyone, including the A-list couple.
A family source shared:
“It was obvious to everyone that it was going to happen. They’re still friends.”

Well, that’s good to hear!
Nonetheless, we’re still shocked since there were once rumors that Charlie had intended to ask the Pretty Girls performer to marry him.
Another source relayed:
“Relationships are hard sometimes and they just don’t work out. They are two busy people leading two very busy lives, and they decided they would focus on other priorities.”
The TV producer and pop icon first started dating back in October and seemed perfectly happy just last month at the Billboard Music Awards.
Apparently, Brit’s ex is still pretty “torn up” over the whole split.
So sad.
We’re wishing these two all the best — and hey, maybe they can work it out sometime in the near future!
We can only hope.
