Got A Tip?

Star Seeker

Britney Spears

Is Britney Spears' Instagram Comments Section A LIE?!?

Britney Spears Instagram Comments Censored Mother Lynne

We keep hearing about how Britney Spears is being kept under the thumb of her father.
The conservatorship Jamie Spears has held over his daughter for more than a decade means she isn’t able to do things we take for granted, like access her money without permission.
Supposedly she can’t even have an iPhone herself and has to give her team social media messages to post for her.

Well, it may not just be Britney being controlled. It may be YOU, too — if you’re a fan.
According to AbsoluteBritney.com, the Oops I Did It Again singer’s team is carefully curating comments on her Instagram posts.
It wouldn’t be shocking to hear about a celeb’s social media expert deleting negative comments to make the star look better. Total diva move, but not unheard of.
But the Britney fansite claims just the opposite is going on here.
They posted on their own IG feed Friday:

“So Britney’s team is deleting positive comments on her Instagram post and leaving negative ones to keep up the illusion that she needs help! They were all so quick to remove all comments before but now all the sudden they are leaving all negative ones but removing positive ones! How much longer is this going to be?!? This has to be human rights violation!!!! #FreeBritney”

Human rights violation may be going a bit far. It’s just Instagram comments… right?
Well, it kind of depends on why they’re doing it.
Are they trying to make her look bad to the outside world? Are they covering up the support she’s getting from people who think she should be given back control?

Even worse, are they leaving the negative comments so it’s all BRITNEY can see? To try to keep her mental state more fraught and vulnerable??
Because if so, that is truly sick.
Either way, someone close to Britney is corroborating the claim: her momma, Lynne Spears!
She responded to the post:

“I can’t believe u just posted this because I had a friend tell me the same thing! I posted something and tried to go back and find it and none of it is in order and I couldn’t find mine, which I JUST POSTED??? I know you are a true fan and love her so thank you for pointing this out because I have had others say the same?”

Wow!
OK, but is any of this legit?
If Britney’s team really is deleting positive posts, they’re unable to keep up with the volume of them.
We took a look at some of Britney’s latest posts, and it’s a mix of both — though negative do seem to be winning.
For instance, take this recent post — Thursday’s video of Britney showing off her closet:

There absolutely are a surprising number of negative comments (well, not that surprising for the Internet we guess):

“She scares me. Wtf is happening!? Doesn’t anyone see how bizarre this is!?”
“What the F is going on. Give me 2001 Britney back please. Hell even give us 2007 Britney at least it was authentic”
“You’re not a teenager anymore, please speak in a normal voice”
“She’s just a couple videos away from shaving her head again!!”

But there’s also some positive ones defending her, though you do have to scroll longer as they’re pretty outnumbered:

“She’s just being excited. Nothing wrong with that. I love these videos. Have some compassion people. She’s very simple and sweet.”
“Britney has always been quirky and goof off a lot. Have yall just started being a fan now? And she has a gymnastic background, they all have that cheerleader like stance. These negative comments are so evil and yall call yourselves fans? Shame.”
“I hope that everyone in your life Brittany is treating you kindly and not misusing you as an icon. I hope there are genuine people in your life who treat you like a human being.”

We will say, all the most liked comments are negative, which does seem suspect.
Wouldn’t Britney fans be more apt to visit the page and thus like the positive ones more?
Hmm.
What do YOU think, Britney fans? Are we all being gaslit by her team here?? Or is this just some wild conspiracy theory nonsense??
