Cara Delevingne Posts & Deletes Tweet Claiming She And Ashley Benson Broke Up - But Was It A Hack?!

Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson may have broken up… or the whole thing was just the work of a hacker?!

Late Monday night, the Carnival Row actress announced in a very simple, straightforward tweet that she’d broken up with Benson. In the since-deleted post, Delevingne shared few details, other than to reveal her apparent split from the Pretty Little Liars star. Unexpected!!!

As you can see (below), the short-lived tweet doesn’t leave much to the imagination about the status of the couple’s relationship:

OK, but, like, wait… is it even true?

The breakup tweet itself was only up for about 15 minutes before being deleted, and eagle-eyed fans noticed plenty of other suspicious activity on the 27-year-old model’s page to suggest a full-scale hack of her account by outsiders, rather than an actual breakup from Benson.

Evidence via screenshot, captured by fans and followers, proves Delevingne’s Twitter account also offered to give away free iPhones, teased a private new Instagram account (?!), and even sent some other questionable messages on Monday night, right around the time of the breakup tweet. The account even called out Justin Bieber for not knowing how to tell time. We’re here for THAT tweet, at least! LOLz!

As you can see in the screenshots, these tweets fit the pattern of a hacker way more than they do Cara’s typical social media behavior:

All those tweets have been deleted, now, too. (Yes, sadly, even the Bieber one.)

Neither Benson nor Delevingne have tweeted since the apparent hack, and neither one has spoken or reacted publicly about the whole controversy, either.

That was a close one…

You’ll recall, the supermodel and her 29-year-old actress girlfriend first sparked romance rumors more than a year ago when paparazzi pics caught them kissing in London, but the two didn’t actually confirm their love until earlier this year.

Since then, they have appeared happy as can be together, even opting for special tattoos to show their commitment to each other.

And back in June, Delevingne opened up publicly about the love she has for Benson, saying during a speech:

“I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are. She’s one of the people who helped me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it. She showed me what real love is and how to accept it, which is a lot harder than I thought.”

Awwww! So touching!

Yeah, here’s to these two being together forever… and no more hacks! Change your passwords, y’all!
