This is still so heartbreaking.
Last month, Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds both passed away within a day of each other. And now, they are finally being laid to rest.
On Wednesday, a family source told Entertainment Tonight that the Star Wars icon had been cremated, and her private memorial will be held on Thursday.

The insider added that the following day, the Singin’ In The Rain star will be buried in Los Angeles, with some of her daughter’s ashes.
And, the confidante confessed there will also be a public ceremony slated for a few months in the future. The source spilled that stars like Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, and Paul Simon — who is Carrie’s ex-husband — will be invited.
Plus, TMZ is explaining why the famous family members are being laid to rest differently.
The outlet is reporting that Ms. Fisher had expressed in her will that she wanted to be cremated, while Debbie made it explicitly clear that she did not want to undergo that same process.
Instead, Ms. Reynolds had requested her body be buried.
TMZ clarified that her daughter’s ashes will actually be put in a coffin that will be buried next to Debbie’s at Burbank’s Forest Lawn.
Rest in peace, Debbie and Carrie.
