Whoever runs Cinnabon‘s social media is surely in BIG trouble after this one…
On Tuesday, Carrie Fisher tragically succumbed to cardiac arrest. And while tasteful tributes to the Star Wars alum began pouring in after her untimely death, the sweet treat giant opted for a more insensitive approach.

While reacting to the news of the 60-year-old’s passing, Cinnabon decided it was somehow fine to post a joke about the iconic actress’ “buns.”
News flash: It wasn’t fine.
The dessert chain took to Twitter to share a depiction of Carrie’s Princess Leia crafted from powdered cinnamon, with a Cinnabon serving as the character’s signature hair bun.
That would’ve been okay, except for the fact that Cinnabon distastefully captioned the photo:

“RIP Carrie Fisher, you’ll always have the best buns in the galaxy.”

So awful.
Obviously, the company received some serious backlash after that, and quickly deleted the offending post. However, you can see a screenshot of it (below):

Ugh.
Our hearts are with Carrie’s loved ones during this trying time.
