Ohhhhh boy, this clip…
In a recently re-discovered clip from a 2011 HBO special called Talking Funny that is now making the rounds on Twitter, four comedians — Chris Rock, Ricky Gervais, Louis C.K., and Jerry Seinfeld — are sitting around discussing comedy and their careers.

And during the segment, Rock, C.K., and Gervais all use the n-word repeatedly in what’s turned out to be a highly controversial, highly charged moment drawing a LOT of criticism online.
Watch the moment on camera (below):
Why did it take @JerrySeinfeld to tell Louis Ck and @rickygervais that it wasn’t cool for two white dudes to toss around the word ‘n*gger?’
Why the hell was @chrisrock shucking, jiving & laughing with them.
Right Jerry, I don’t find the %#%* humor.pic.twitter.com/bxY36ECGnx

Wow…
And kudos to Seinfeld for at least partially shutting down that conversation, as some Twitter users were quick to note — though there are a LOT of differing opinions here (below):
Jerry Seinfeld being the voice of reason on using the N word..ohh Chris Rock ????????♀️

People are angry at Chris Rock on Dec. 22, 2018 for a skit that aired on April 22, 2012. The world has too much time on its hands and too much of an incessant need to be outraged.

That Chris Rock/Louis CK/Ricky Gervais N-world video from 2011 is cringe worthy. Seinfeld was sitting there like pic.twitter.com/C8rQtdq8QQ

It’s so odd how yet again the woke twitter mob is targeting yet another successful black man. Complete coincidence.

It’s quite clear that even if Chris Rock wasn’t born, Gervais and Louis CK were going to be using the n-word. Black people never have and never will give white folks ✌????permission✌????to call us that. That’s the jig. We get blamed for their use of it like they ever need our approval. https://t.co/0ToaL3LbdQ

I love Chris Rock and Travis Scott both. However, they both need to come to the front of the congregation. We need to talk.
