Out of all the actors rumored to play the next James Bond, Idris Elba‘s name has been popping up the most!
Earlier this year, the Luther star said discussions with MGM producers “never happened,” and that rumors in the media were actually hurting his chances to play the British action hero!

On top of that, the 42-year-old pointed the blame on none other than the current 007 Daniel Craig! He said:
“Daniel Craig actually set the rumor off. About four years ago he said Idris Elba would be a great Bond, and then it started to creep… Honestly, it’s a rumor that’s really starting to eat itself. If there was ever any chance of me getting Bond, it’s gone.”
Flash forward to Saturday’s non-televised Governors Awards — the two actors met face to face at the bar in the Ray Dolby Ballroom!
The Spectre star made up for his churning of the rumor mill in the most suave, Bond-like way possible — by planting a kiss on his possible successor!
Elba explained:
“He came up to me, looked me in the eyes, grabbed my face and kissed me on the cheek.”
LOLz! Then Craig quipped:
“They asked me if you can play Bond. What am I going to say? No?”
Well, we guess that’s closure?
Either way, it looks like there’s no bad blood between these two Brits!
