How bittersweet.
On the one-month anniversary of David Bowie‘s death after a private battle with cancer, his son Duncan Jones revealed he’s going to have a kid of his own this summer!
The 44-year-old announced the exciting news along with a cartoon drawing of a fetus via Twitter:
1 month since dad died today. Made this card for him at Christmas. Due in June. Circle of life. Love you, granddad. pic.twitter.com/sf7SEUtm64

Jones wasn’t the only one who got in on the action — his wife Rodene Jones added:
Shame on those of you who just thought I was really fat and didn’t say anything. HAHA. 😉 pic.twitter.com/OtTF2wPrPk

Ha!! Most importantly!
Sadly though, last month’s passing of the rock legend wasn’t Jones’ first go with a cancer scare. In 2012, he and Rodene married immediately after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
At the time, he shared:
“On November 4th, my beautiful fianc├â┬⌐ @rodeneronquillo & I were, frisking about in bed, as you do. I am a boob man & found… A lump. It was a Sunday, so we had to wait to get an appointment to have the lump biopsied but by Wednesday, we had an answer. Cancer. Stage 2. We were a little overwhelmed by the news: cancer & Election Day, so decided to make it a set, ran down to the courthouse & got married! So cancer, election, marriage. All on one day! Two days later, Ro was in surgery.”
Thank goodness she’s all better.
Congrats to the Jones’ on their growing family!
