Dog The Bounty Hunter Says He's Suffering From A 'Broken Heart' After Being Hospitalized

Dog Bounty Hunter has broken heart.

Dog the Bounty Hunter has made a heartbreaking self-diagnosis after his recent heart-related health scare.

The Dog’s Most Wanted star opened up about his hospitalization earlier this week in an interview with Colorado stations FOX31 and Channel 2 on Wednesday, claiming the medical issue was due to a “broken heart” in the wake of his wife Beth Chapman’s untimely death.

The former bail bondsman told the outlets he “feels much better” since being released from the hospital, sharing:

“It feels much better now. And I’m going through some psychological things right now too, so that doesn’t help. I think, basically, I had a broken heart. And of course, it’s going to heal.”

Aw. So sad.

But he’s right: time heals all wounds… if we let it.

As we reported, the 66-year-old was taken to a hospital in Colorado after feeling pain in his chest. While it was initially believed to be a heart attack, an angiogram came back normal, so he was released Monday evening.

It’s said Dog’s health scare was stress and blood pressure-related. On Wednesday, the father-of-twelve said he felt like he couldn’t breathe before being taken to the hospital, recalling:

“It was like I had ran a 3- or 4-mile run.”

Dog (real name Duane Chapman) added he’s not sure what was happening, but said he had follow up tests scheduled for Thursday and Friday. He shared:

“There’s something haywire or it’s psychologically. I don’t know. I guess things happen like that. I’ve never … I don’t do drugs.”

As fans know, he has been struggling in the months since his wife passed away after suffering complications from throat cancer at the age of 51. Back in July, the reality star told ET he lost “17 pounds in two weeks,” explaining:

“I can’t eat. Two bites, I’m full. I got to force feed myself like I force fed [Beth].”

The beloved bounty hunter also said Beth’s absence was making it hard for him to sleep, admitting:

“I wake up to always touch her, especially when she was sick. I’d have to wake up a few times when she stopped breathing. I couldn’t hear it no more. And she’s laying and I’m like, ‘You are not dying like that. I will not let you die.’ So I’m so used to that that I don’t sleep solid anymore… I haven’t gotten past the place where I’m [not] putting a pillow where she was and covering it up. And then I wake up in the middle of the night and I see her and it doesn’t register that [it] ain’t her.”

Get well soon, Dog.
