Donald Trump Found GUILTY On All Counts! So WTF Happens Now?!

Well… damn. We honestly did not expect that! In his unprecedented criminal trial, Donald Trump has been found guilty on all counts!

If you haven’t been following, the former president was on trial for 34 total counts of falsifying business records in a conspiracy to pay hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels. Over the past couple weeks, prosecutors piled all the evidence of something we’ve known for years now — Trump had unprotected sex with the adult entertainer, cheating on Melania Trump. Years later when he was running for president, in the final days of the 2016 campaign his fixer Michael Cohen paid her $130k to keep her mouth shut. As close as that election was, that story coming out may actually have made the difference. So this was a big deal.

Like we said, we’ve known all this for years since Cohen already served prison time for it. But for Trump to actually face legal consequences for his actions, it’s… kind of jaw-dropping if we’re being honest.

Trump has now become the first US president in history to be convicted on criminal charges. And awkwardly he’s also the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party in 2024. So… what happens now?

Well, sentencing won’t take place until July 11. Trump could just face a huge fine, at which point, what else is new, right? He’ll just keep chugging along, and it won’t change many votes, sadly. (Why crimes related to elections aren’t disqualifying we have no idea!) Alternatively Trump could be sentenced to up to four years in prison! Even though in all likelihood he’ll get out WAY sooner, it could still mean he’s in prison during the final months of the election. THAT would be truly insane. It doesn’t mean he can’t get elected, we guess… But it does mean staging a debate would be a little tricky…

Until then we can imagine we’ll hear a lot of angry spewing on Truth Social about how rigged everything was, it’s a big conspiracy against him, yadda yadda. But once again, that doesn’t actually work in a courtroom — only facts do, only actual evidence.

And then of course Trump has the right to appeal his case, and that could take some time as well. So what happens if he wins the presidency and THEN is supposed to report to prison? Can you imagine? In what kind of messed up country would this be the only option available for leadership?? Sigh…
