Plane Crash In Egypt Kills 224 -- ISIS Terrorist Group Claims Responsibility Despite Early Reports Of Mechanical Flaws

This is so sad — and scary.
A plane carrying 224 people heading for St. Petersburg, Russia from a resort town in Egypt crashed several hours ago, leaving everyone on board dead in an awful tragedy.

The plane, which had just taken off from the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on the Red Sea on Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, crashed in a desolate region of mountains, according to the country’s aviation ministry.
Family members of Russian passengers (above) waited for news of the crash and the status of their relatives and loved ones earlier Saturday morning.
And in a scary twist to this tale, the flight — which early reports indicate went down due to mechanical problems — is now being claimed as purposely attacked and destroyed by ISIS-affiliated terrorists.
A Twitter message from an ISIS group in Egypt took responsibility for the alleged attack:

“The fighters of the Islamic State were able to down a Russian plane over Sinai province that was carrying over 220 Russian crusaders. They were all killed, thanks be to god.”

However, even though final reports won’t follow for months — if not longer — initial findings at the crash site have suggested to officials that the issue was a mechanical one with the plane, and terrorists were not involved in bringing down the jet.
Either way, our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of all those affected by this awful crash.
