Fame can certainly be isolating.
Just ask Elle Fanning. The up-and-comer opened up to Elle UK for their February issue and revealed that, despite being one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, she doesn’t have many friends. Awww.

When asked for advice on how to make new pals, the Maleficent actress candidly shared:
“I’m not someone that has a lot of friends. I see people who have many friends and get really jealous. I have a good core of three or four friends who are really close to me.”
Now, the 18-year-old may be jealous of all those social butterflies out there, but she has no intention of expanding her friend group. Elle continued:
“Nicole Kidman told me, ‘Find your tribe and they’ll always be behind you.’ I like that.”
Gotta give Nicole snaps for throwing out some seriously good advice. LOVES it!
Not to mention Miz Fanning has learned to become proud of her introverted ways. In regards to working with equally quiet Sofia Coppola, Dakota Fanning‘s sis dished:
“I’ve just finished shooting with Sofia Coppola and she’s one of the quietest people ever, but there’s a real power to her silence. When she just stares at you from across a take, you know you need to get the shot.”
Still, it appears as though The Neon Demon star still struggles with anxiety, especially when it comes to romantic relationships. The starlet got real about the difficulties of moving on from past relationships in the social media age as she noted:
“It’s so hard in this era when an ex is only a text away. Back in the day they had to work up the courage to call on the phone, talk to your parents, and when you broke up you didn’t see them again. But now, between Snapchat and Instagram, you can see everything ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ especially them with a new partner. But it’s damaging so you have to stop… I have high anxiety and I’m on my phone constantly, so I find myself comparing myself to others.”
Poor thing. Nonetheless, with the countless flicks the It-girl has coming out this year, we don’t think Elle should be comparing herself to anyone! Girl, you’re KILLING the game!
