As we mentioned over two months ago, former rapper Eminem was reportedly going to begin working on a new album, his first since 2004!
And reports keep surfacing that Slim Shady will have his album out this year.
During a recent appearance on Eminem’s Sirius XM satellite radio station (who knew he even had one?), the rapper admitted that he’s been producing music for his Shady Records artists, as well as some stuff for himself.
Eminem said, “I’m concentrating on my own stuff right now — just banging out tracks. The more I keep producing, the better it seems I get. I start knowing stuff, learning the boards like the back of my hands.”
However, a rep for Interscope said there is no official release date yet and no single has been confirmed. They did admit, however, that a new album “may arrive” before the end of the year.
Even 50 Cent, who’s worked with Eminem in the past, is speaking out.
Fifty said during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 that fans would be seeing Eminem shortly.
Adding that, “He’s working. I spent the weekend at his house. Even though he tries to relax and stay home, it’s impossible for him to stay in.”
Let’s hope after all these years of being away his new album doesn’t bomb!
