Congresswoman Giffords Now Standing On Her Own Two Feet!

This is truly unbelievable news.
Merely a week ago, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords had managed to open her eyes – after being a victim in the horiffic Tuscon shootings – and now, we’re thrilled to report today that she has been able to stand on her own two feet, with some assistance!
The University Medical Center’s Dr. Peter Rhee also revealed that the Congresswoman was also able to finally leave her bed this morning, and sat in a chair by her room’s window while she looked out at the Catalina Mountains.
While he wouldn’t confirm the reports that Giffords will be moved to the TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital in Houston on Friday, Rhee did admit that she’s already started an “aggressive rehab” regimen.
Meanwhile, her husband, Mark Kelly, announced:

“I am extremely hopeful at the signs of recovery that my wife has made since the shooting. The team of doctors and nurses at UMC has stabilized her to the point of being ready to move to the rehabilitation phase. Their goal – and our goal – has been to provide Gabby with the best care possible.”

We are SO inspired by this woman’s resilience throughout this entire ordeal.
