On Monday, it was revealed that supermodel Janice Dickinson has breast cancer. How sad!
It’s said that the former America’s Next Top Model judge was diagnosed with the disease on March 12 after her doctor found a lump in her right breast during a routine exam.

In an interview with DailyMail, the 61-year-old dished:
“Just two weeks ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer, it’s hard for me to say this, but I have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
It’s still quite shocking. Today I got very scared… I just get very scared and it hit me. But I am not gonna let that define me, the fear. I’m going to get through this, I’ll be just fine kiddo.”
Oh man. On the discovery of the lump, she added:
“The doctor noticed it immediately. She said, ‘this doesn’t feel right. We have to be real comprehensive with this and have it checked out.’
I’m always optimistic, initially when the doctor found the lump it hurt, it became quite painful when you touch it, that’s the point when I knew this is serious, when the doctor touched this little lump in my right breast, about the size of a pea, and I went bingo, I have cancer.”
Aside from being shocked about the unfortunate news for herself, it seems that the brunette beauty was most worried about how those closest to her would react. The reality TV celeb has two children and a fiancé Rocky as her support system during this health crisis.
According to the industry vet, she was out shopping with her daughter Savannah when she received the confirmation that she did indeed have breast cancer. Janice has since labeled the situation as an “out of body experience”. The photographer explained:
“At that moment I knew I had to be brave and I had to be strong. I had to find the courage I possess as a woman, that we all have as women and then I had to put my chin up and my shoulders back and take it moment by moment.”
Well said! To make matters worse, Dickinson previously lost her mother to cancer. Currently, Janice is seeking treatment with several specialists at UCLA — well that’s good to hear!
On her prognosis, she relayed:
“I don’t know what the doctors really told me because it goes in one ear out the other, that’s how I roll. I know that my fianc├â┬⌐ is a doctor of the highest caliber, I have four specialists, I’ve been prodded and poked on the inside and out and I can tell you I’m very, very lucky.”
Our thoughts are with Janice during this tough time.
