Ugh.
As you know, everyone sent Jimmy Kimmel and his family an outpouring of love after he revealed on Monday night that his newborn son, Billy, underwent emergency open-heart surgery just a few days after birth.
During his monologue, the late night TV host made a plea for keeping health care available to people who can’t afford it and those with pre-existing conditions:
“We were brought up to believe that we live in the greatest country in the world, but until a few years ago, millions and millions of us had no access to health insurance at all. Before 2014, if you were born with congenital heart disease, like my son was, there’s a good chance you’d never be able to get health insurance because you had a pre-existing condition. You were born with a pre-existing condition and if your parents didn’t have medical insurance you might not live long enough to even get denied because of a pre-existing condition. If your baby is going to die and it doesn’t have to, it shouldn’t matter how much money you make.”
Seems logical to us.

However, not everyone was so empathetic as former congressman Joe Walsh took to Twitter with his insensitive opinion toward Jimmy’s son’s struggle — something Joe immediately faced heat for online.
He said:
Sorry Jimmy Kimmel: your sad story doesn’t obligate me or anybody else to pay for somebody else’s health care.

It didn’t take long before celebrities like Patton Oswalt, Alyssa Milano, and other commenters slammed the radio host — and even brought up his $117,000 child support scandal from 2012.
Ch-ch-check out the best reactions (below)!
Joe, you won’t even pay child support for your OWN kids. We already knew you felt this way, you worm. No need to tell us — we’re good. https://t.co/gwUPduG13g

Taking everything in me to not tweet Joe Walsh and tell him exactly what I think he is.

Ahem. Don’t you owe $117,437 in child support to your ex-wife and three children, Joe Walsh? https://t.co/aG37ALk99M

I lost a daughter in the hospital, and her twin sister was in there for 9 months having five surgeries. You sir should open your heart. https://t.co/d5IgQpz5ZA

I wonder if Joe Walsh wrote off any deductions on his most recent taxes. I shouldn’t have to pay for that
— Jason Miller (@longwall26) May 2, 2017
@WalshFreedom The laws of your state and this nation obligate you to pay your child support.

@WalshFreedom thank you for having the courage to fight against those conniving evil takers, sick children

How peculiar that a deadbeat dad would take this particular stance, even as a form of desperate attention seeking. 🤔

@WalshFreedom You really wanna bring up the “pay for your children” thing? https://t.co/ZHnnX2YTEX
