Josh Hartnett Turned Down THREE Major Superhero Roles! Find Out Which Ones HERE!

Josh Hartnett may still be one heckuva hot guy, but back around the year 2000, he was the hottest commodity in Hollywood!
He was so hot in fact that he was in talks to play not one, not two, but THREE different superheroes! And that was at the dawn of the superhero movie explosion!
It’s well-known Josh was a contender for Superman Returns. But what other superheroes did he turn down? And WHY?? He says:

“Spider-Man was something we talked about. Batman was another one. But I somehow knew those roles had potential to define me, and I didn’t want that. I didn’t want to be labeled as Superman for the rest of my career. I was maybe 22, but I saw the danger.”

We guess it activated his Spidey sense? But of course a superhero role doesn’t HAVE TO define you. Just look at the varied careers of Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale.
Of course, they were both a little older when they took on those parts. And as a more seasoned actor, Josh today wouldn’t automatically rule something like that out. He says:

“I’d say, ‘Let’s talk about how it would be done, see if we can get on the same page.’ Compromise doesn’t scare me anymore.”

Good for you, Josh! Compromise is super! LOLz! Also, we’d still like to see you in tights. But until then…
