It's Getting Ugly! Julie Taymor Puts Bono And The Edge On BLAST After Filing Spider-Man Lawsuit!

Uh-oh! We had a feeling that this whole mess was going to be a little less-than-amicable, but looks like someone isn’t wasting any time!
Julie Taymor filed a lawsuit last week regarding her abrupt firing as director from the so-bad-it’s-just-bad, accident-prone, $65 million musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, under claims that the production has infringed upon her creative input, and now, she’s lashing out at her collaborators, Bono and The Edge, and asserts that they used her as a scapegoat to escape the bad press they were receiving for all of the injuries and delays!
She explains:

“There’s no doubt by the end of February, when I felt all of this stuff happening, that I was exhausted by that, but not by the show and not by the inspiration that I was getting from the actors. What was exhausting was the fact that the producers were absent… Those people weren’t there, so how does Bono know? I’m sorry. This thing that I refused to do the big changes and so they let me go? No. There wasn’t [an ultimatum]. That was not something that was brought up to me. [Taking the fall for production problems and bad press] I think that those were important to paint a picture of a director who you needed to release in order to make this big change.”

Although she had only originally filed an arbitration claim against the show for more than $500,000 in royalties, obviously, it’s now escalated, and her attorney claims:

“Ms. Taymor regrets that the producers├óΓé¼Γäó actions have left her no choice but to resort to legal recourse to protect her rights.”

Shiz! The claws are out!
Frankly, the show stunk then and it still stinks now, even with the creative overhaul, so we don’t think any one person is at fault – it was just the perfect storm of bad ideas, ego, and money!
What do U think?? Team Julie or Team U2??
