The executives at Coca-Cola are popping champagne as we speak!
As we reported, Kendall Jenner released her new Pepsi commercial which features the KUWTK star leaving a photoshoot for a protest where she gives a can of soda to a monitoring cop.

The bizarre ending seemingly signifies that a soft drink can bring about unity between authority and demonstrators, who have had a tumultuous relationship in our current political climate.
After the ad went viral, the Internet was PISSED with the commercial’s ludicrous message, especially given the rise of police brutality in recent years.
Twitter users wrote:

Do you think the team at Pepsi meant to release that ad on the anniversary of MLK’s assassination or just a really unfortunate coincidence?

I’ve been studying commercials for 30 years. Kendall’s Pepsi ad is legitimately the worst one I’ve ever seen.

Once the backlash began, a Pepsi spokesperson told EW:
“This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey.”
The company also released a different statement to Teen Vogue:
“The creative showcases a moment of unity, and a point where multiple storylines converge in the final advert. It depicts various groups of people embracing a spontaneous moment, and showcasing Pepsi’s brand rallying cry to ├óΓé¼╦£Live For Now,’ in an exploration of what that truly means to live life unbounded, unfiltered and uninhibited.”
Just like their drink, Pepsi’s popularity is fizzling out!
