Kim Kardashian Helps Free Another Low-Level Drug Offender From Prison!

Kim Kardashian helps free another inmate!

Kim Kardashian is, once again, making a difference.
On Friday, the KUWTK star revealed on Twitter that she helped free Jeffrey Stringer, an inmate who served 22 years of a life sentence for a low-level drug offense.
Per TMZ, the Florida man — who had two cases prior — was convicted for drug possession when he was 25, and got life in prison under the federal three-strikes law.

While thanking his attorney, Brittany K. Barnett, Kanye West‘s wife posted a picture of Stringer’s family members, with the caption:

“We did it again! Had the best call w/this lovely family & my attorney [Brittany K. Barnett] who just won release for their loved one Jeffrey in Miami – he served 22 years of life sentence for low level drug case. He served too much time but it gives me so much joy to fund this life saving work.”

According to the publication, Barnett went to court and successfully argued that Stringer should be released under the First Step Act, which President Donald Trump signed into law earlier this year.
Reportedly, Jeffrey will be released on Monday.
In May 2018, Kardashian met with Trump at the White House to discuss the case of Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother who was sentenced to life without parole for drug trafficking.
Fast forward to June 2018, the President granted clemency to the now-63-year-old, who was released after serving 21 years behind bars. After the big news was revealed, Kardashian wrote on Twitter:

“I hope to continue this important work by working together with organizations who have been fighting this fight for much longer than I have and deserve the recognition.”

During his 2019 State of the Union Address in February 2019, Trump invited Johnson, who received a standing ovation by members of the United States Congress and their guests.
As we reported, while covering the May 2019 issue of Vogue, Kardashian revealed she is studying to be a lawyer by enrolling in a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco. Ultimately, she plans on taking the bar in 2022.
In April of this year, the mother-of-three further explained on Instagram:

“Last year I registered with the California State Bar to study law. For the next 4 years, a minimum of 18 hours a week is required, I will take written and multiple choice tests monthly. As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way.”

Although some people mocked her plans to study justice, the 38-year-old wants everyone to know that you can accomplish your dreams, no matter who you are.

“I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or my money that got me here, but that’s not the case. One person actually said I should ‘stay in my lane.’ I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am. The state bar doesn’t care who you are. This option is available to anyone who’s state allows it.’”

You go, Kim!
