Kyle Richards & Teddi Mellencamp Address Accusations Of Biphobia After Denise Richards Confrontation

Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp have been confronted about apparent biphobia in regards to Denise Richards' alleged hookup!

Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp are defending themselves from accusations of biphobia!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars have come under fire from fans and viewers after their actions confronting Denise Richards about cheating allegations centering on a possible hookup with co-star Brandi Glanville.

Both Kyle and Teddi appeared virtually on Watch What Happens Live Wednesday night to try to address some of the questions surrounding the ongoing Richards-Glanville drama on RHOBH. While on the show to discuss all the dirt with host Andy Cohen, a couple viewer questions came in to the studio that caught both longtime reality TV mainstays by surprise — and for good reason!

For one, a fan asked about whether the two women were “biphobic” due to their intense focus on Denise’s alleged hookup, as it appeared to be somewhat overly critical as shown over the last several episodes.

Kyle took exception with that, answering (below):

“It has nothing to do with that. If you hear a married woman has an affair and you’re on a reality show, it’s gonna come up. It’s been said on camera. If it had never been told on camera it would not have come up, honestly. But it’s an affair, regardless of if it’s a man or a woman and you’re on a reality show.”

That is a good point. The accusation is specifically of cheating on her husband — and gaslighting Brandi.

Teddi gave her two cents, too, adding:

“When I said at the first dinner, ‘This is really bad,’ it’s not because it was a woman, it was because it was an affair that we were told on camera. And that’s the part you hate having to talk about, but it was already out there.”

Hmmm…

Another fan got even more pointed with her questioning of the two women on WWHL, openly asking why Teddi decided to “out” Denise in regards to the existence of the (alleged) affair in the first place. Reeling, Teddi tried to explain away the whole Glanville controversy, saying:

“I don’t think I ever looked at it as outing Denise. I was trying to talk to her about things that she said about us and the group. And she kept saying, ‘I don’t even talk to Brandi. I don’t even talk to Brandi.’ And all of the women including Denise were like, ‘Just say it, say it, say it.’ And that’s really how it went down.”

Uhhhh…. OK.

Kyle chimed in and tried to claim that cast members had a “responsibility to viewers” to follow through with the alleged affair narrative only after Brandi first brought things up on camera. The 51-year-old boutique owner and socialite said:

“I never like to see anybody hurt on this show. It’s very difficult when personal things come up and unfortunately, like I said, that is the downside of reality television. When Teddi and I were told that information, it was such an, ‘Oh my god! What are we going to do?’ moment because obviously we can’t just let the audience see that and then it’s done. So of course it’s going to come up.”

Hmmm… so because these two were “told that information,” they had to keep the narrative going simply for viewers to be clued into the context?

Reactions, Perezcious readers?

What do U make of Teddi and Kyle appearing to side-step responsibility here?! Did they “out” Denise? Or uncover destructive behavior regardless of sexual orientation?
