Liam Payne Congratulates Harry Styles On 'Billboard' Accomplishment, But Where Do They Stand?

No longer bandmates, but friends forever!

Liam Payne offered up his congratulations to his former bandmate Harry Styles on his latest accomplishment! ICYMI, Harry’s recently released album, Fine Line, just topped the Billboard 200 charts.

Along with an image of the album cover, the 26-year-old penned to Instagram:

“Massive congrats H, on becoming the first UK Male artist to debut at No.1 with your first two albums! What an achievement, you must be over the moon ?”

So sweet!!

So, where do things stand between these two? Well, as Payne puts it, he’s the “antichrist” of the Cherry singer. Following the release of his full-length solo album LP1, Bear Grey‘s daddy revealed in an interview with The Face magazine exactly where things stand today with his former One Direction bandmates.

When asked which of the four (Harry, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, or Zayn Malik) he’d most like to take a walk with, he replied:

“To be honest with you, more than anyone, probably Harry.”

So, why the 25-year-old? Payne elaborated:

“With Harry there’s so much mystery around who he’s become.”

This leads us to believe they’re not spending as much time together as we may have thought! Speaking about two of his other bandmates (no tea on Zayn, sorry), he added:

“I speak to Louis quite regularly. And I feel like I know where I stand with Niall.”

It seems he doesn’t know much about who Styles has become in the years since 1D went on hiatus. Furthermore, he wouldn’t even know what to say to him!! That’s pretty sad to hear, TBH, because they spent SO much time together while in the band:

“I was looking at some pictures of him the other day, and I just thought, ‘I don’t know what more I’d say to him other than, ‘Hello’ and ‘How are you?’ I mean, look at the stuff I put out and the stuff Harry puts out. Polar opposite. I’m like the antichrist version of what Harry is.“

You’re what?! Sure, people change… but the antichrist?! A little extreme, don’t you think??
