A mom from Miami is facing criminal charges after she allegedly attempted to hire a hitman to kill her son.
On Tuesday, as reported by CBS Miami, police were contacted by a man who operates a parody website called RentAHitman.com with a concerning inquiry email. The site is solely run by Bob Innes, who bought the URL way back in 2005 to start a tech company, but when that never happened he just kept the site and turned it into a satirical page offering “killers for hire.” It’s obvious to most that the webpage is just a joke — we mean, the page claims to be “safer than the dark web” — but apparently not everyone out there takes the site so lightly. Just last month we heard about a 17-year-old kid who allegedly used it wanting to off a 7-year-old! Yes, really!
This time it was 18-year-old Jazmin Paez who allegedly thought this website was serious. Disturbingly, it’s claimed, she knew exactly who she wanted to take out — her 3-year-old son.

She allegedly sent an email to the site requesting a killer-for-hire to murder her toddler, but instead of the email going to an actual hitman, it went straight into Innes’ inbox. Soon after reading her inquiry, he quickly contacted Miami-Dade police.
Paez’s email contained extremely detailed requests, and even addresses of where to go to complete the killing and a photo of her child. The teenage mother, according to investigators, wanted the job done by Thursday “once and for all” and that her child needed to be taken “far, far, far away, and possibly be killed, but ASAP.”
Whoa…
After tracing the suspect’s IP address, police were able to find the residence in which the email came from, and — thankfully — the 3-year-old boy alive and well with his grandmother. She reportedly confirmed her grandson was, in fact, the one being targeted, so officers were then able to continue their investigation in order to catch Paez. They posed as workers of the RentAHitman site and conversed with the young mom over email, who agreed she wanted to go through with the killing. She agreed to pay $3,000 for the murder. Just awful!
So far, investigators aren’t sure why Paez would want to kill her son. When they arrested her on Wednesday, it’s reported they saw she still had the website open in one of her browser tabs! She was charged with first-degree solicitation of murder and third-degree using a communications device for an unlawful use, according to court docs.
The most scary detail of all, though, is she was only given a $15,000 bond — and she’s already bailed out as of Thursday! As of right now, there’s no word on whether a protective order has been placed on the child, or her whereabouts.
