Not very shagadelic, baby…
It’s undeniable that Mike Myers has carved out an impressive career for himself — from his humble beginnings on Saturday Night Live and Wayne’s World, to his hilarious portrayals of Austin Powers and everyone’s favorite Ogre, Shrek. However, the 59-year-old’s filmography hasn’t gone without a few duds here and there, and if one radio DJ’s claims are true, Mike didn’t make The Love Guru’s production any easier.
During the latest episode of Canadian media personality Jay Brody’s Sonic Radio show, Carly & Jay, the broadcaster, who said he previously worked as a bodyguard, recalled a time “years ago” where he was offered a job on set of Mike’s 2008 production:
“Years ago, I was working in film security and I got a call from a company that hired out [body]guards and they said, ‘Do you want a job on the film of The Love Guru,’ and I was like, ‘Sure, what will I be doing?’ And they said, ‘You’ll basically be guarding Mike Myers’ trailer on the film sets.’”

However, there was one major “catch” that he claimed was a requirement if working with the Bohemian Rhapsody actor:
“You can’t look at him. [But] I needed to look at him to see him to be his bodyguard and they’re like, ‘If you look at him, you’re going to get fired. And here’s another thing you should know: we really don’t know what he looks like right now. He’s going to be in a wig and prosthetics.’”
He continued:
“So I’m sitting on the set, first day, first hour I’m there. We don’t know what he looks like, I don’t know what he looks like yet, and I just see a man approaching in a long wig, a fake beard, and I’m like, ‘I think that’s Mike Myers,’ and I look down to not look at him because I don’t want to get fired, but I realize I can’t let just anyone into the trailer. So I look up, I catch his eye for a second, I give him a nod to let him know I’m cool, and then I look away, and within an hour I get a phone call letting me know that I’m fired and I have to get off the set because I broke this weird rule.”
We’ve heard about some wild demands from actors, but if true, this one is pretty out there. Watch the full moment (below):

This all came after Jay took to Twitter Sunday to share a clip of Keanu Reeves helping carry production equipment on the set of John Wick: Chapter 4, in which he praised the actor while spilling the beans about Mike:
“People saying that “he shouldn’t be praised for helping” have no idea what it’s like working in film. Mike Myers had me fired off the set of The Love Guru because I made eye contact with him, and I was there as his body guard… Give Keanu his roses”

In the days since the reveal, reps for the Terminal actor have denied the claims, telling Page Six Tuesday the “[15]-year-old claim” was untrue, and that “Mike didn’t have a bodyguard on The Love Guru.” Jay, however, stuck to his word, adding that Myers “never said anything to me personally” when the firing took place.
Yikes… Do YOU believe the radio host, Perezcious readers? Or can you not picture funny man Mike having such an absurd rule? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments down below!
