Miley Cyrus Plays A Pop Star On The Fritz In One Of THREE New 'Black Mirror' Trailers -- Watch!

You’ve truly never seen Miley Cyrus like this before!
Netflix dropped three new trailers for the fifth season of Black Mirror on Tuesday, each teasing a new episode of Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ futuristic anthology series.
Like past seasons, the new episodes promise to serve as cautionary tales about the state of technology as it rapidly becomes intertwined — perhaps too intertwined — with humanity. Miley’s episode, Rachel, Jack and Ashley, Too, is certainly no exception.

In the trailer (above), the 26-year-old plays a pop star who a lonely teenager (played by Angourie Rice) longs to connect with. Sure, that description might have Hannah Montana undertones — but we’re talking about Black Mirror here: a show that’s known to deliver horrifically dark and twisted endings.
As the trailer suggests, Miley’s character Ashley doesn’t exactly have the best of both worlds. She’s overworked, troubled by fame, and has maybe possibly been digitally imported into one of her Furby-esque “Ashley 2” dolls. Yup, sounds about right.
Ch-ch-check out the clip (above) to see Ashley’s merchandise take on a life of its own!
In the trailer for Striking Vipers, Anthony Mackie and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II star as estranged college friends who reconnect later in life, triggering a series of events that could alter their lives forever. Ch-ch-check it out (below)!

And finally, Smithereens stars Andrew Scott as a cab driver with an agenda who is seemingly in a toxic relationship with his GPS device. The ep also stars Damson Idris and Topher Grace — watch the trailer (below)!

Wow!
All three episodes will be available to stream when the fifth season of Black Mirror drops on Netflix June 5. Which episode are you most excited for?
Don’t lie… it’s Miley’s, isn’t it?

The Wrecking Ball singer spilled some deets about the “dark and funny” episode in an interview with Vanity Fair earlier this year, in which she spoke about filming a scene where her character was having a “panic attack” in her Malibu home.
Filming this scene was particularly traumatic for Miley, as it happened on the same day she found out that she had lost her real Malibu home in the Woolsey Fires. She explained to the mag:

“I was working on Black Mirror in South Africa. The day I heard we lost our home, my scene was set at my house in Malibu. My character was having a panic attack, so needless to say the inspiration was there. Anne Sewitzky, the director, and I became very close, since going through all of this so far from home, she was really the only mother figure I had. Experiencing that together and in the realness of it all, we created something I think is magical. It’s hard for me to be proud of my work, I rarely walk away satisfied but I’m very proud of what we made. It really tells my story in some dark and funny way, as that show does, and as life is.”

Sounds like fans can expect some meta-Miley-madness!
