The O.C’s 10-year anniversary was only just a few days ago, so when news broke of the show’s decade-long influence, it’s no surprise that the fandom erupted with cries for a reunion.
Sadly, it doesn’t sound like Mischa Barton feels the same way. When asked at the Cosmopolitan Summer Bash on Saturday about a potential reunion, the actress said:
“You know — never say never, but, I think things have to feel right and it doesn’t feel right. You can’t say that you feel one way or another about things, but before The O.C. I was on track to do some great films, as well, and one thing happens and then I got this mega stardom all from this show. It is what it is, but I’m not looking to get sucked back into the limelight of it.”
Hmmm, really?? Ok…
As for whether she’s kept in touch with her fellow O.C. co-stars, Mischa admitted that she hasn’t been the best at reaching out to them:
“I don’t… I mean, I run into people every once in awhile, but I’m doing my own thing. I work a lot, so I feel like I’m never around in L.A. and I know that Ben [McKenzie] and Rachel [Bilson] work on shows here.”
Guess you can’t always get what you want.
The Rolling Stones were clearly onto something with that one.
