Nadya Suleman, the Octomom, just plead no contest on Monday to a single count of misdemeanor welfare fraud.
Suleman collected over $26,000 in public assistance funds for her 14 kids.
The problem was that she never disclosed income she was getting from videos and personal appearances.
Even though it was a large sum of money she was only sentenced to 200 hours of community service, two years of probation and a small fine.
According to her attorney, with some financial assistance from some buddies, Octomom has already repaid the county welfare system!
Her attorney said:
“We could have litigated, there were a lot of issues we could have raised. But she wanted to resolve this case quickly and not go through a public ordeal.”
Also, there’s the fact that she was originally facing four felony counts and could’ve gone to jail for over six years!
Luckily, the courts didn’t want to separate this momma from her kiddos!
We’re glad everything worked out for her and hope she’s learned to be more honest in the future.
