Every year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces the films up for an Oscars — followed by the inevitable griping from fans over which actors were snubbed out of a well-deserved nomination.
This year will be no exception, as the big screen has been graced with far too many phenomenal performances in recent months for everyone to get the nod.
From Emma Stone‘s spellbinding performance as an aspiring actress in the musical La La Land to Denzel Washington‘s gripping portrayal of a self-loathing father who squashes his son’s dreams in Fences, there are many solid frontrunners in this year’s race.
