Sean Penn Could Be In BIG Trouble Over His El Chapo Interview -- See The VERY Harsh Words From The White House & More!

Sean Penn is in TROUBLE!
After his controversial little rendezvous with notorious Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman came to light over the weekend, the actor is a man in high demand with government officials who are investigating the interview.

Now, it’s not just Mexican government officials, either: the White House has gotten involved in discussing Penn’s controversial actions!
White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough spoke to CNN on Monday, telling host Jake Tapper how maddening Penn’s interview was to follow:

“It poses a lot of very interesting questions, both for him and for others involved in this ├óΓé¼┬ª so-called interview. And one thing I will tell you is that this braggadocio’s action about how much heroin [Guzman] sends around the world, including to the United States, is maddening. We see a heroin epidemic, opioid addiction epidemic in this country. So, we’re going to stay on top of this, with our Mexican counterparts, until we get that back in the box.”

McDonough went on in another interview to tell reporters that he was “appalled” by El Chapo’s comments to the famous actor, but the White House wasn’t the only government outfit to come down REALLY hard on Penn.

Senator Marco Rubio, running to try to be the Republican Party’s choice for president this year, spoke VERY openly about what he thought of Penn’s interview:

“If one of these American actors who have benefited from the greatness of this country, who have made money from our free enterprise system, want to go fawn all over a criminal and a drug trafficker in their interviews, they have a constitutional right to do it. I find it grotesque. Sean Penn is not someone I spend a lot of time thinking about. I didn’t even know he was still around. I think he made movies a long time ago or something.”

As for consequences though, well, things are still up in the air for Penn.
McDonough indicated the White House wasn’t able to go after the actor for his interview, saying:

“We’ll let somebody else sort out what Sean Penn did and didn’t do.”

As of now, governments are still only interested in talking to Penn about his involvement, and it doesn’t (yet) appear he’s in any legal hot water.
We’ll obvz update you if that changes…
