Kim Kardashian’s American Horror Story casting is turning into a real nightmare! At least where the press is concerned.
On Tuesday, Sharon Stone got very shady while sharing her two cents on the news that the reality starlet will be starring in the upcoming season of AHS alongside Emma Roberts. Under an Access Hollywood Instagram post, the Basic Instinct star dished:
“Well… you know… acting It may not be brain surgery but We do treasure our art. We studied, we suffered, we do suffer for it. Ten thousand hours; it’s a thing.”
Oof! Does not sound like she approves of Kimmy Kakes’ career move!
Ch-ch-check out the post that sparked the drama:
Sharon isn’t the first high-profile celeb to clap back at this casting announcement, either. She follows in the footsteps of AHS alum Patti LuPone, who appeared in the 3rd and 11th seasons of the series. ICYMI, on Sunday’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, she was asked if she cared about the news — and she responded through gritted teeth:
“Yes, I do.”
When pressed to spill the tea, she simply said “no, I don’t [like it].” She then argued:
“[She’s taking a role away] from actors. Excuse me, Kim. What are you doing with your life? Don’t get on the stage, Mrs. Worthington.”
That last line is seemingly a reference to the 1935 Noël Coward song, Mrs. Worthington, in which the singer discourages a stage mom from letting her daughter pursue a stage career. Just wait until Patti and Sharon find out Kim has ANOTHER career move in mind! The SKIMS founder’s gonna have to pull out all the stops to win over these frustrated legends in the entertainment industry!
While this certainly isn’t Kim’s first time in front of the camera — and we’re not just talking about the decades of reality TV work she has under her belt — it’s definitely the most notable project she’s ever worked on. In the past, she’s made appearances on How I Met Your Mother, Last Man Standing, and Drop Dead Diva, as well as the parody film Disaster Movie. She’s also a voice actress in PAW Patrol: The Movie. But a small cameo in a comedy is VERY different than a leading role in a highly-beloved horror anthology! Just saying!
Innerestingly, creator Ryan Murphy has no hesitations about hiring the model, telling The Hollywood Reporter she’s “among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world.” Even Kim is “really excited” about the opportunity, a source told Us Weekly earlier this month:
“It really is an honor particularly because she’s working alongside some of the most talented people in one of the most iconic franchises. She was a bit nervous to take on such an important project, [but] she knew it was something she couldn’t pass up.”
We bet those nerves have skyrocketed now that there’s so much pushback from fans and alums! The pressure is on to deliver a hell of a season! Details of the plot and Kim’s role have been kept under wraps. So far, we can just expect it to be creepy AF! What do YOU think about this casting? Sound OFF (below)!
