Sharon Tate's Sister BLASTS Hilary Duff's Movie About The Starlet's Murder: 'Tacky, Tacky, Tacky'!

Sharon Tate‘s sister is NOT happy about Hilary Duff‘s portrayal of the deceased starlet.
As we previously reported, the former Disney darling confirmed that she is playing the late American actress in The Haunting of Sharon Tate. Not only did the Younger star share a pic of her done up as Sharon, but she also claimed it was “a true honor” to play such “an amazing woman.”

Debra Tate had an entirely different take on the situation, as she called it “classless” and “exploitative.” She noted to People:

“It doesn’t matter who it is acting in it ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ it’s just tasteless. It’s classless how everyone is rushing to release something for the 50th anniversary of this horrific event.”

As the 50th anniversary of Tate’s murder at the hands of the Manson Family is only a year away, Duff’s film isn’t the only Tate-centric project slated to come out in 2019. In fact, Quentin Tarantino is working on his own Manson Family project.
It appears that Debra also has taken an issue with the indie movie’s plot. In case you missed it, The Haunting of Sharon Tate is said to be from Tate’s point of view and takes place during her final days. Specifically, the plot focuses on a revelation Sharon had a year before her murder.
Per reports, Roman Polanski‘s late wife revealed she had dreams about ghosts haunting her home and predicted she’d die at the hands of a satanic cult. Tate’s flesh-and-blood has since denounced this take as “a total fabrication.”
In regards to the spooky plot, Debra added:

“I know for a fact she did not have a premonition ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ awake or in a dream ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ that she and Jay would have their throat cut. I checked with all of her living friends. None of her friends had any knowledge of this. Tacky, tacky, tacky.”

As for Duff being tapped to play Sharon, Debra simply noted that she owns the rights to her sister’s likeness. The 65-year-old concluded:

“It would have been nice if someone had contacted me.”

Fair enough. Not to mention, Debra has been pretty vocal about the standards she holds for actresses portraying her sister.
It’ll be inneresting to see if Hilary responds to Tate’s V V V public shade…
