Where do they get off?
While phone sex may be all the rage with today’s Millennials, one young woman got a lot more than she bargained for when she purchased a new vibrator earlier this year.
The Chicago-based woman — known only by her initials N.P. — is suing Canadian sex toy manufacturer Standard Innovation for countless invasions of privacy after realizing their vibrator was keeping track of her masturbation habits!

Apparently, the We-Vibe model is actually a “smart” vibrator (below) that syncs up with users’ smartphones to give people a more complete sexual experience — including customizable speeds, unlockable bonus settings, and even remote control capabilities.
Unfortunately… N.P. didn’t quite realize that by using the device “several times” upon purchasing it in May, she was actually transferring some of her personal data back to the company!
Her VERY personal data…

According to the lawsuit filed in September, the woman is looking to create a class-action case for “tens of thousands” of other victims… except for the fact that Standard Innovation doesn’t believe they did anything wrong.
While acknowledging that the app does monitor masturbation habits, they claim they haven’t actually broken any laws since that information doesn’t go anywhere, saying:

“There’s been no allegation that any of our customers’ data has been compromised. However, given the intimate nature of our products, the privacy and security of our customers’ data is of utmost importance to our company. Accordingly, we take concerns about customer privacy and our data practices seriously. We do collect certain limited data to help us improve our products and for diagnostic purposes, [but] as a matter of practice, we use this data in an aggregate, non-identifiable form.”

Inneresting. Literally!
Will this lawsuit hit a wall? Or will N.P. get a happy ending??
What do YOU think??
