Washington State House APPROVES Bill To Legalize Same-Sex Marriage!!!!!!

A-MAZING! We knew they could do it!!!!
Last week, we were absolutely THRILLED to learn that the Washington state Senate passed a bill to legalize same-sex marriage!
Now, we’re ECSTATIC to report that the house has voted in favor of the bill, which means….
IT WILL BE LEGAL FOR SAME-SEX COUPLES TO GET MARRIED IN WASHINGTON (starting this June).
Here’s what Gov. Chris Gregoire had to say about it:

“With today’s vote, we tell the nation that Washington state will no longer deny our citizens the opportunity to marry the person they love. We tell every child of same-sex couples that their family is every bit as equal and important as all other families in our state. And we take a major step toward completing a long and important journey to end discrimination based on sexual orientation.”

The law will go into effect this June…as long as opponents don’t “halt its implementation by putting it on the November 2012 ballot.”
We cannot emphasize enough how pleased we are that Washington is SOOOOO close to legalizing same-sex marriage! As long as opponents to the law don’t win out, it’s going to be very exciting times in Washington come June!!!!!
