The 11,000 people surveyed ranked Oasis' Definitely Maybe numero uno and (What's the Story) Morning Glory number two.
The Beatles' Revolver came in at… #4?
Should we let these poll results be?
It's just a tad ironic that Oasis has cited The Beatles as one of their may-jah musical influences.
So if it wasn't for The Beatles….

there is no way - NO WAY that Oasis is better than the Beatles. I'm not sure there are any bands better than the Beatles - only LedZepplin could even come close.
I love me some Brits, but they are off their nuts if they think Oasis is better than The Beatles in any way, shape, or form. Oasis is pretty much a Beatles rip off band, and you are right, if there had been no Beatles, there would never have been an Oasis. So those idiotas who voted for Oasis are really saying two things: 1. We appreciate the effect The Beatles have had on music history and can see that same influence has helped Oasis in ways they never could help themselves, and 2) we are too bloody stupid to vote for the real thing.

what everyone is failing to grasp is that they ranked albums. can you make a case that definitely maybe is better than any beatles record, absolutely. it is the opinion of many the general public and music journalist that it is the greatest debut album of all time. second, the beatles are not the greatest band ever. that honor would go to the kinks. who are a far superior band. if you listen back to say sgt peppers or rubber soul they sound very dated. while if you put on the kinks are the village green preservation society it sounds as fresh as ever. it is a testament to quality that should accounted for.
