Judge Dismisses Charges In Anna Nicole Smith Case

annanicolesmithe__opt__opt1.jpg

We can't say this makes us very happy, though we're glad to hear there is some resolve to the case regardless.

This morning, the judge overseeing the Anna Nicole Smith case dismissed some of the charges against Howard K. Stern and two doctors. The trio, who were accused of illegally providing Anna Nicole with prescription drugs, were cleared of two charges.

The first went to Stern for supposedly obtaining the drugs for Anna Nicole through means of fraud and deceit. (The charge still stands against Dr. Sandeep Kapoor.) A second charge was dropped against both parties due to insufficent proof.

The remaining charges against all three defendants will all go to the jury. Hopefully, by Monday, this whole thing will be over with.

Judge Wants To Simply End Simplify Anna Nicole Case

web-annanicole__opt.jpg

Is this still going on? Really?! Just let the woman rest in peace and throw these schmucks in jail already!

A judge overseeing the Anne Nicole Smith trial has requested that prosecutors simplify their proposal charging drug conspiracy charges against Anna's doctors and boyfriend, insisting that the jurors are having trouble understanding the complex case.

Does anyone really understand it?!

After reviewing the lengthy complaint, Superior Court Judge Robert Perry asked prosecutors: "Are you trying to impress the jury with so many charges or abuse the jury?… I think it hurts your case when you complicate it."

True. Housewives and retiree's know only enough legal jargon to get them through an episode of CSI. Can't expect much more than that.

Felony Charges Likely To Be Dropped In Anna Nicole Smith Drug Trial

wenn-anna-nicole__opt__opt.jpg

And this case just keeps getting more and more complicated.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Perry is likely to dismiss various felony charges against Howard K. Stern and two doctors in the drug conspiracy trial over Anna Nicole Smith's death.

Although it's unclear which charges will be dropped, Perry claimed Monday that there was enough evidenced given in the prosecution's testimonies that support two of three conspiracy charges.

It all depends on whether or not the prosecution can prove that Smith was a drug addict, because according to a pain management expert's testimony, she was never diagnosed as such - instead, just a victim of chronic pain from a rib injury, and grief-stricken over her son's death.

All so tragic, and frankly, we're not sure what to think about this entire mess.

What do U think?? Should the charges get dropped??

Nanny Recounts Anna Nicole's Last Weeks. Terrible!

384677736_02f2f7b979__opt__opt.jpg

This is really sad and disturbing. Be forewarned.

Quethlie Alexie, the former nanny of Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, Danielynn, has opened up about the circumstances of Anna Nicole’s final weeks, and the details are upsetting, to say the least.

Alexie testified against the three defendants accused of keeping Anna Nicole in a perpetually drugged state, including Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich, and Smith's lawyer-boyfriend Howard K. Stern.

In her statement, she spoke about how she would see Smith brought into a bathroom by Stern and Eroshevich, who’d leave bloody syringes and cotton balls in the bathroom as Smith stumbled out drunkenly. Awful!

Here’s what Stern would say to Smith before these bathroom visits, according to Alexie:

“Baby, come and we'll take our medicine.'"

More from Alexie:

"She was unable to walk, falling, and was unable to handle her talking. She would laugh."

Alexie described Smith’s state towards the end as weak, and that she would sleep all day. Alexie also spoke about how Smith suffered from bouts of diahrrea and vomiting, and that she was in a grief-stricken state over the death of her son, Daniel.

So horrible! We hope Alexie's testimony is able to make an impact in resolving this case.

Witness In Anna Nicole Case Recants Statements

annanicolesmithe__opt.jpg

The drama never ends in the Anna Nicole Smith drug conspiracy case!

Now, witness Ford Shelley recanted his earlier statements in which he alluded that Smith's lawyer-boyfriend Howard K. Stern had overmedicated Smith.

On Friday, he changed his tune, claiming that he never witnessed Smith abuse drugs nor did he see Stern force any medication on to her. He also says that he believes Stern shouldn't be on trial.

Stern, along with Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich have pleaded not guilty to charges claiming that they provided Smith excessive drugs.

Shady, shady, shady….

Anna Nicole Smith, The Opera - Coming Soon!

annanicolesmithe.jpg

Anna Nicole Smith’s life is skipping right past TV movie and heading straight for the opera!

BBC 4 will be airing Anna Nicole - The Opera, which tells the story of her rise to fame and how she married a billionaire 60 years older than her, and then died of a drug overdose at 39 years old.

Recently, we had heard that Anna Nicole's life would be getting the musical treatment, but who knew it would become a full-fledged opera?

We wonder if they’ll incorporate current Anna Nicole-related news into the opera. At the moment, the man who was her boyfriend and two men who were her doctors are being charged with keeping her in a perpetually heavily drugged state.

Mark Anthony Turnage, an Olivier award-winning composer, is developing the opera. This is good news, because it’s important for the man behind an Anna Nicole opera to have an impressive pedigree. We wouldn’t want it to be mishandled.

What will be next after the opera? A Feature film? A National Anna Nicole holiday? Guess we’ll have to see how the opera goes first. We have a very morbid curiosity about this project…we’ll be keeping an eye and an ear out.

Do U think Anna Nicole’s life deserves the opera treatment?

Judge Criticizes Prosecution In Anna Nicole Case

wenn-anna-nicole__opt.jpg

Things are taking quite a dramatic turn in the Anna Nicole Smith case!

A judge in the case against Anna Nicole's doctors and lawyer criticized the prosecution, saying that he does not believe that Anna Nicole was a "pawn in the hands of her handlers and doctors," but that she was a "strong-willed person who ordered people around and was her own boss."

Superior Court Judge Robert Perry stated that the evidence shown so far does not support the argument that Anna Nicole's handlers "kept her in a drugged state to control her and her money," after a jury was shown a videotape of her acting "loopy, wacky, and crazy" at an awards show.

Deputy District Attorney Renee Rose protested, however, saying that she could understand the court's rulings if the case was going to be decided by a judge, "but this is a case for a jury." she said. She added, "It is not our contention that she walked around drug addled for two years."

Judge Perry has decided to no longer show any video footage of Anna Nicole as he says, "She's fairly entertaining and at her voluptuous best…The problem I have with this case is we have a very public figure …. We are a movie-watching, TV-watching nation. And as the defense has said, what we see on television is not always real."

He does have a point about Anna Nicole's life, but it is hard to tell who was controlling her life when it came to drugs. Did she have her own free will or were her doctors and lawyer controlling her every move?

What do U think?
