Cher and Johnny Knoxville are attached to star in a comedy called The Drop Out. Cher will play the cougar that Johnny's 35-year old character seduces so he can maintain his slacker, 'career student' life. Film producers are on the lookout for a guy who can play the cougar's "ne'er-do-well son" who is looking for a father figure, even if it's a guy his own age. When your career is lagging, what better than to appeal to the nostalgia of middle-aged folks with an album of old-timey covers? That's exactly what singers Cher and Wynonna Judd are doing! Cher is reportedly coming out with an album of 60s covers because "it was such a magical time for music" and she wants to "pay tribute to a time when I used to listen to music on my little transistor radio," she says. Quaint! Wynonna's Sing, however, covers a broader range of genres, drawing on the likes of Hank Williams and Merle Haggard for her covers because "it's all me, its all part of the tapestry of who I am." The mono-moniker-ed Cher is brushing off rumors that she canceled the year's last pair of Vegas performances on account of cancer. The singer says that to quite the contrary, she is in perfect health. She says that the cancellations, were in fact, caused by allergies. The allergies made her throat sore and thus unable to sing. She says that if she indeed had cancer, everyone would know about it because "when you have those kind of things happen if you're famous you can't keep them a secret." But she isn't bothered by the rumors. "People have been saying the weirdest things since I was a teenager." Well we're glad to hear that she's okay! Janet Jackson isn't the only diva cancelling shows due to health problems. Cher is apparently suffering from asthma-related bronchitis. That doesn't sound pleasant at all! According to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, the 62 year-old had to cancel her shows on Saturday and Sunday, which were her last performances there for the year, due to her bronchitis. Her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, claims Cher is actually suffering from "Vegas Throat." That's apparently a condition that's caused by the dry dessert air. However, reports state that Caesars spent millions of dollars installing a special humidifier in The Colosseum showroom, which was specially built for Celine Dion's show to protect her throat. As for Rosenberg, she is also denying the rumors that Cher has chronic abdominal problems. Caesars issued a statement saying that "Cher looks forward to her return to The Colosseum early next year with performances to be announced soon." Get well soon, diva! The ageless Tina Turner is about to embark on a 7-month world tour. It's hard to believe that she is 68-years old! The music legend has hired her trusty friend Bob Mackie (yes, the same guy who designs for Cher) to whip up the stuff that she'll strut in on-stage. One of the designer's tour costume sketches was revealed on Tuesday (above). There's no doubt that Tina will look amazing in that short, sexy, short, chocolate creation! Did we mention SHORT??? Mackie said Tina's “leaning a bit more towards a rock-influenced look.” So, there's going to be thigh-grazing dresses, beaded tops and shiny stretch pants accented by lacing, fringe, studs and jewels. Cher! Cher! Cher! Cher! Cher! Cher! Cher! Cher! Cher! This weekend we had the very special opportunity to not only see Cher's new show at Caesar's Palace in Vegas, but we also got to meet her afterwards!!! This woman is a legend!!!!! She's in her 60s and she's still singing and dancing. She's been doing this for 44 years now! And, the new show at the Colosseum brilliantly encapsulates that storied career - taking you on a journey through her decades of hits and memorable moments along the way. The show is everything you would want from a Cher concert - big production, stunning Bob Mackie outfits, dancers, aerialists, video montages and more. The only, small, critique we have is that she does spend a lot of time offstage changing clothes. She has a new costume for practically every song! But, it's a Cher show and you want those outfits. So it is what it is. Above everything else, though, it's all about the music. And Cher has soooo many hits. We saw the Bette Midler show at the Colosseum and we didn't enjoy her as much as Cher because Bette just doesn't have that many hits. It's all about the show. However, the show is that much more special when everybody knows all the songs and they're singing along! Cher's got the hits, the show, the comedy. Everything. And she was sooooo nice when we met her. And spunky! If you come to Vegas, you MUST check her out. We believe!!!! P.S. She's not playing Catwoman! We thought this was a joke, but The Telegraph is a respected newspaper. According to the UK's Telegraph, Academy Award-winner and music icon Cher is in talks to play Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the third installment of the revamped Batman film franchise. A studio executive reportedly said,
