A week after Prince's unexpected death, authorities are one step closer to figuring out how the music legend died.
On Thursday, law enforcement told the Associated Press that they are investigating the possibility that the Purple Rain artist suffered an overdose.
As we reported, sources close to the 57-year-old said the musician was prescribed Percocet in 2009 and slowly became addicted.
On April 15 after a performance in Atlanta, the Grammy winner reportedly overdosed on the drug while in flight, prompting the plane to make an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois. Police are trying to figure out if a doctor was present for this ordeal.
Additionally, officials are investigating what type of drugs were on the plane, and what kind were at his Paisley Park house.
As we wrote on Thursday, police obtained a warrant to search his Minnesota mansion.
Our thoughts and prayers go to Prince's friends and family during this difficult time.

It's always helpful to get a professional opinion.
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with the Chief Clinical Officer of Recovery Centers of America, Deni Carise, Ph.D, we got much needed info on Prince's reported drug overdose from opiates on April 15. Deni also defined exactly what a "save shot" is and revealed how it actually works. Considering the singer allegedly received a "save shot", this is particularly valuable info.
While we have yet to confirm if drugs played a role in the icon's tragic death on Thursday, Carise gave us thorough explanations as to how the 57-year-old could have succumbed to an overdose that wasn't properly treated.

The 28-year-old Olympic silver medalist's suspension goes into effect on March 12 and she's already been dropped to varying degrees by Nike, Porsche, and TAG Heuer, but now the people behind the decision to make Meldonium an illegal performance enhancing drug in 2016 are speaking out against her.

The docs also concluded that the MTV personality was suffering from marijuana withdrawals! It was the combination of ditching the drug and changing her contraception that brought on the medical mystery.

UPDATE THURSDAY 8:46 PM EST: Big Ang's family has already reached their fundraising goal! In only two days, the campaign raised far more than the $25,000 target!
According to the crowdfunding site, hundreds of generous donors gifted $36,941 for the lovely lady's treatment!
This is such sad news.
Last year, we learned that Big Ang's cancer has returned. And now, we're getting more bad news about her current treatment.
On Tuesday, the Mob Wives star's sister, Janine Detore, revealed that she has not been responding to her chemotherapy.
The VH1 alum's sibling created a GoFundMe page, discussing her current condition, writing:
"As you know my sister was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer. Chemotherapy was started January 5 th. On January 26th the doctor reviewed her CT scan and informed us that the treatment was not working, and in fact one tumor grew larger and the other tumors had no change. We were advised that she would start immunotherapy the following week."
While she mentioned Ang isn't on the brink of death, she did say that the TV personality is really struggling with her breathing, and is in an incredible amount of pain.
So, the bar owner's sister suggested cannabis oil to reduce the pain. Unfortunately, the product is pretty pricey, which is why the famous family turned to crowdfunding. Janine wrote:
