Paul To Marry Nancy In London!

Filed under: Love Line > Paul McCartney

Paul And Nancy London Wedding

For those of you wondering after we announced that Sir Paul McCartney was to wed his girlfriend Nancy Shevell, the couple is planning to be married in London!

Like we said before, however, the wedding is being planned as a small ceremony. And after how his last marriage ended (after 4 years with her taking 20+ million from him), we can't say we blame him for wanting to keep it modest!

Martin Scorsese Documents George Harrison's Life

Martin Scorsese George Harrison Doc

We all know about John Lennon. He was the rebellious, say whats on your mind leader.

Paul McCartney was the poetic, pretty one.

And Ringo Starr? Crazy drummer.

But what about George Harrison? The quiet one. What do most people know about him?

He didn't make headlines as much as the other Beatles did, but that didn't mean his talent or intrigue was any less remarkable.

Martin Scorsese knows that, and that's why he's been working on a film project with Harrison's widow for HBO.

The two parter, which airs on

Beatles LOVE Show: McCartney And Ono Still Not Close

Paul Yoko Red Carpet

Everyone knows that Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono are not the best of friends.

Still, you'd think after all these years there'd be a way to put differences aside and be amicable.

Though they didn't outright do anything to each other, the fact that they both chose to skip the opportunity to pose together on the red carpet has some subtext to it for sure. The two just stuck with their dates, which, in the scheme of things, is just fine, but you'd think that two people so close to the Beatles would want to reconnect — especially during an emotional show that was inspired by the late George Harrison.

Regardless of the mutual snub, the show was a hit, and brought loads of celebs in for support, including Marcia Gay Harden, Elijah Wood, and The Killers.

And don't forget, Paul's playing Yankee Stadium soon! Do U think Yoko will be there??

Paul McCartney Performing At Yankee Stadium

Paul NYC Yankee Stadium

For the first time ever, Paul McCartney is performing at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx!

It's true, the former Beatle will be playing a show on July 15th, and Live Nation had this to say:

"[It] can safely be predicted to feature some nearly three hours of the world’s best loved and most known music, with hits, deep cuts and surprises spanning his unrivaled career.”

Almost 3 hours?? Awesome! That means he'll really be dipping deep into his catalogue!

Tickets vary in prices, but if you want the best, that'll be $279.50. Chump change to see a Beatle, right??

Right!

Will U be going, New York readers??

Paul McCartney Heading To Australia??

McCartney Australia

That's fabulous for those down-under, for sure!

The former Beatle is being wooed by promoters to do a tour in Australia, one offer even has him doing a New Year's Eve show that would kick off a series of shows around the country!

The problem is that it'll be his first holiday as a newly married man, so he's expected to want to stay with his family. The talks are ongoing though, and people thing there's a 50/50 chance he'll do it during that period. If not, there's always the option to wait just a little bit!

But he's not the only rocker looking to grace Australia!

Possible line-ups include: Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leopard, Heart, Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Foo Fighters, Stevie Nicks, Dave Stewart, Roger Waters, Janet Jackson, Tony Hadley, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Steely Dan, Steve Winwood, Lady GaGa, Rolling Stones, Eminem, and Tom Petty!

That's a LOT of talent!

But there could be a downfall:

”There are too many promoters with too many bands and not enough punters. Too much supply and not enough demand.”

That'd be a shame!

So the question is: Are U Australian followers going to show up to these shows if they come??

We'd hope so!

Paul McCartney To Release Pop Standards Album

paul-mccartney-to-release-pop-standards-album.jpg

This is…um, different!

Paul McCartney has just finished recording an album that's devoted to covers of pop standards from the pre-rock years.

He worked with an orchestra to record nearly a dozen songs, including some with Diana Krall and her band.

Explaining the album, Paul says:

"It’s my dad’s style of music. I’ve wanted to do that kind of thing forever, since the Beatle days. But then Rod [Stewart] went mad on it. I thought, 'I have to wait so it doesn’t look like I’m trying to do a Rod.'

They’re just songs I admire, I’m trying to steer away from the obvious ones It’s get-home-from-work music. You put it on and get a glass of wine."

Paul also plans on going in the opposite direction and will begin work on another album that will feature "heavier rock." And he hopes to work with Dave Grohl on the new tracks. Paul says:

"It sounds quite wacky, but it keeps it fresh. I love that – you get a crazy idea and go with it. You never know – I may run into a garage to make this other album.

But it won't be in Dave's garage."

Wow, the man is in his late 60s and he still knows how to make great music and stay current. We applaud Paul and can't wait to hear his new albums!

Paul McCartney Having A Small Wedding

Filed under: Love Line > Paul McCartney

Paul Small Wedding

You would think the opposite because of the ring's price tag, but maybe that's just it — they put more into the ring knowing that they'd have a small, simple, ceremony!

Paul McCartney proposed to his girlfriend of four years Nancy Shevell to the surprise of many (not like it was a bad thing, but unexpected!). He used a $650,000 ring to do the deed.

But despite that, Nancy insists everything will be low-key:

“It will be small. Just our families. I don’t know the exact date. And don’t ask what I’ll wear because how dressy do you get to stand before a Justice of the Peace in his chambers, which is exactly what we’re going to do.”

Sounds wonderful regardless if it's huge or not! True love doesn't require a billion dollar wedding, that's for sure, as long as you guys have each other!

She works in NYC, but will end up moving to England. She'll keep her job and commute once a month, though! Frequent flier miles, anyone??

Ha!

Congrats guys, we hope you bring each other years of happiness!
