Ok, first thing first. We just HAVE to talk about Brit-Brit’s amazing medley including hits like Slave 4 U and Womanizer. It’s the first time we’ve seen Ms. Spears perform at a major award show in a while!
Unfortunately for the singer, the reaction to her seXXXy presentation was a bit mixed:

Well, at least the blonde looked phenomenal! We know our girl has been working hard on her bod!
As for the night’s hosts, Ciara and Ludacris, fans didn’t know whether to focus on the rapper’s truth bomb in the opening dialogue or the momma’s flawless look:

Oh, and Pink pulled off some CRAZY acrobatic moves to the delight of her adoring fans while performing Just Like Fire:

The only person who apparently wasn’t impressed was Justin Bieber:

HA! We guess you can’t win them all…
A few performances later, new power couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton rocked their duet Why Don’t You Go Ahead and Break My Heart?. Naturally, the public had A LOT of feelings:

To make the night even better, Adele premiered the hypnotic music video for Send My Love (To Your New Lover):

On a more emotional note, Kesha simply blew us away with her flawless Bob Dylan cover:

Following up the blonde’s poignant performance was Celine Dion‘s return to the stage following the death of her beloved husband Ren├â┬⌐ Ang├â┬⌐lil. Twitter had nothing but love for the Billboard Icon Award winner:

Once Dion performed, her son René-Charles Angelil came out on stage to present her with the prestigious award. Cue the tears:

As a little pick me up, the legendary band The Go-Go’s took the stage to perform We Got The Beat:

Next up was Ariana Grande‘s much anticipated rendition of Into You:

Last but not least, Madonna closed out the show with a very special and SORT OF well-received tribute to the late Prince:

Yup, that was one doozy of a show! So much talent!
So, what did YOU think of this year’s #BBMAs?
