Aaron Carter Splits With Girlfriend AND Gets Accused Of Rescue Dog Scam! Ruff Weekend!

Aaron Carter Girlfriend Breakup Selling Rescue Dogs Response

Aaron Carter did not have a good weekend.

First, after dating for over a year, the I Want Candy singer has split from girlfriend Lina Valentina.

The couple went through quite a lot together (or maybe didn’t), like when Aaron basically announced they were “maybe expecting” then later retracted that statement to say it was wishful thinking and not actual news.

For a hot second we thought they were about to get engaged (and apparently so did Aaron), but instead they’re already Instagram unofficial — it appears he’s deleted all evidence of her from his feed.

Though he’s still on hers. All of him…

In a statement, Aaron explained the breakup, writing:

“Lina and I have decided to go our separate ways. I was really hoping this would be the one that lasted forever. We had even talked about having kids, but we couldn’t seem to get past our differences and the relationship eventually turned unhealthy. I’ve been through so much the past few years and am trying to learn from my mistakes.

I don’t have any regrets being with Lina, and I definitely learned a lot about myself. I think this decision was the mature thing to do. I’m going to keep focusing on my music, my tour and my fans. Hopefully my soulmate is out there somewhere and I’ll meet her soon.”

His soulmate is going to have to be someone who doesn’t pay much attention to social media.

Aaron is in hot water online once again after animal lovers caught he was re-selling a dog he had adopted from a rescue shelter.

What made folks think he was involved in such a scam??

It started with an innocent Instagram post on Friday, in which he showed off his new good boy:

Aaron Carter dog adoption
Just rescued this beautiful 10 month old English bulldog from the @lancasteranimalslaco shelter. I just couldn’t leave him there, I fell in love with him instantly and now he’s home with his new daddy. #rescuedog please rescue or adopt ? / (c) Aaron Carter/Instagram

Awww! Nothing wrong with that!

Except, in a video he posted with his “new buddy” he said something a little different:

“This is my new buddy. So by the way, if I can’t keep him, I am going to be listing him… He’s 10 months old, and he’s running for $3,500.”

WTF?!?

Dog rescue is for dogs to find loving homes, not for middlemen to “flip” the pups for a profit!

When one commenter compared it to the RHOBH “puppygate” scandal, Aaron responded:

“Hi ??. I still have this handsome pup ?, I think what I said was taken out of context. It is amazing how much love and laughter our pets bring into our lives. It would Never be a quick money grab ??‍♂️ always about the animal and their well being. ??”

But it didn’t end there.

More commenters slammed Aaron, including a Twitter account claiming the singe had a history of selling adopted dogs for cash.

The Lancaster Animal Care Center got flooded with worried messages from people who took what Aaron said at face value and believed he was scamming the animal adoption process. They took to their own IG page to let everyone know:

We are working on this situation. Thanks to all for your concern.”

So what really is the situation?

Aaron returned to Twitter to explain — with great umbrage — he was JOKING:

“I think it’s apalling that I actually even have to explain myself I’ve rescued many dogs & found many dogs homes. what I said in my Instagram live video was a joke. Find one dog that I adopted and sold for money, be my guest. WONT HAPPEN. I’m a good person and i deserve respect.”

We don’t really get the joke — but we also don’t get why Aaron Carter would need to scam animal adoption centers for cash.

He had the same thought, reminding critics he isn’t exactly hurting for money:

“And with all due respect I own a home I make over $3 million a year I don’t need to sell a dog for money so have some respect and don’t try to slander my name because I will defend myself and I will take legal action. DONT TRY IT. So back the f**k off… gn”

The social media dragging definitely caught him at a bad time.

What do YOU think of Aaron’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad weekend??
