Aaron Carter Claims Cops Tried To Take His Guns & Put Him On An Involuntary Psych Hold!

Aaron Carter apparently had a bizarre run-in with the police earlier this week!

The 31-year-old pop star reveals in an interview on Monday afternoon that on Sunday night, out of the blue and with no warning whatsoever, the police apparently showed up to his house, asked about his collection of firearms, and threatened to put him in an involuntary psych hold for 72 hours! Whoa!

The pop star relayed all this during a Monday appearance on TMZ Live, where he told the outlet about how the cops were there for more than 15 minutes and appeared “ready to take me away and put me in a straight jacket,” despite ultimately deciding not to place a hold on the celeb.

The former child star recalled the bizarre situation as it unfolded (below):

“Last night, I got an attempt for an actual 5150, which is they’re coming to my house and there was four deputies who came, and a mental evaluator with a clipboard, who was ready to take me away and put me in a straight jacket last night.”

Apparently, after cops walked into his home, Carter was immediately honest with them in revealing “multiple firearms with one in the chamber loaded around the house,” to which the police apparently responded, “that’s your right.”

According to the star, the cops were kind throughout the whole ordeal, at one point saying, “this keeps happening to you and we’re worried about you,” even though they “had a few questions first.” Hmmm…

Among all of the issues here is Carter’s claim that the cops were going for a ‘5150 hold,’ which would be an involuntary hospitalization involving a psychiatric evaluation. To that end, somebody would theoretically have to call it in to police and tip off the authorities that Carter is a threat to himself or others; it’s not, like, the cops would magically know to come get him randomly on a Sunday.

So when TMZ straight up asked Aaron about whether somebody may have tipped off the cops, the blonde pop star cryptically responded (below):

“It could be multiple people that are really close to me.”

Whoa…

This all comes after Carter’s recent appearance on The Doctors where he claimed to be diagnosed with multiple mental health disorders:

“The official diagnosis is that I suffer from multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety; I’m manic depressive. I’m prescribed to Xanax, Seroquel, Gabapentin, Hydroxyzine, Trazodone, Omeprazole.”

Clearly, things have been interesting in and around Aaron Carter’s life for some time now. We can’t even begin to imagine some of the behind-the scenes drama involved here.

We just hope Aaron — and anyone else on the periphery who may need help — gets the emotional, mental, and psychological support they may need, to whatever end.
