Aeropostale Hires Known Homophobic Vine Star As One Of The Faces/Designers Of Their New Line! WTF!

Well this move certainly wasn’t thought about beforehand…
Aeropostale, a brand trying to be the ‘it’ store for teens, has gone and screwed up BIG time!
In their newest attempt to capture the youth as customers, they teamed up with some Vine superstars for a brand new clothing line.
Those stars are Carter Reynolds, Hayes Grier, Cameron Dallas, and…
Nash Grier.
In case you’re late to the party, Nash is the Vine star who is known for his extremely homophobic tweets, racist remarks, and sexist views. Which are pretty well documented HERE.
So, people are pretty freakin’ PISSED about their partnership.
Especially since in a press release, Aeropostale dubbed Nash the ‘King of Vine’ and exclaimed how excited they were to work with him.
They said:

‘We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Nash, Hayes, Cameron and Carter on their first-ever design collection. Each of the guys brings such a different perspective to the table, yet as a whole, their ability to connect with the Aeropostale customer is a phenomenon in itself.’

Surprising to pretty much NO ONE except for Aeropostale, the backlash has been HUGE.
People on Twitter have been expressing their outrage since the announcement went live.

See, clearly people are NOT happy. However, Aeropostale has YET to release a statement about all the backlash they’ve received.
In fact, as of right now it seems like they’re ignoring all the tweets and comments they’ve received about it.
Sounds like bad brand management to us…
Ya know, for a brand struggling to gain relevancy, this is NOT the way to go about gaining new fans!
